Very nice. I like the irregularities such as a random open window and the open door. It really adds realism and takes away some of the monotony of repeating geometry.

Great idea... Photoshop can be used extremely well in this situation. If he wants to do different angles, that is a whole other story. I modeled a whole pirate ship in Sketchup and rendered it in Kerkythea, but needed many different angles of the ship. So I used photoshop for the sky and water, but still had to render all the angles/lighting for each shot. Pirate Ship1 Pirate Ship2

Revit is exactly the same. Almost glad to hear that ArchiCAD has the same problem. The funny thing is that AutoCAD is more straight forward in assigning "dynamic" qualities! We've turned back to SketchUP, simply because we're quicker with it & can get the output we need. Rendering with Twilight & Kerkythea just adds the gloss when needed & can produce a similar quality as the Mental Ray engine supplied with Revit/AutoCAD (at least at my level of expertise ).

Thank you all for your perspectives. Another architect has offered services at 10% of cost. Will have to pay him a visit to see what services he offers as he is an individual, the p.s.f architect offers a wide variety of things including full project management. We'll need to balance cost vs. benefit and services required.

We paid a visit to the island, very nice to see. A good walk to get there. Spent some more time at the attractive old square and at Stary Browar. That's an impressive and well designed mall by any standard. Almost a steampunk-like design, gave me some inspiration for SU! These seem to be the highlights of Poznan, the city seems more business like than historical. Not too much for the tourist All the same, a good visit.

@honoluludesktop said: Fredo, What software do you use to screen capture, and make the gif's. I use Camtasia Studio. Very powerful software and easy to use for video edition. @honoluludesktop said: And if possible in a few sentences, how did you create that menu at the top of the screen? I guess you refer to the button palettes. This is simply 2D drawing with the very few drawing functions available in the SU API. Fredo

Yep, already did the purge/check, no problems found. Yes, Milfot - I did have a similar occurrence where some edges were translated into the distance from a curved surface. It always happened after saving, I had to delete the offending edges and rebuild the section of model. It hasn't repeated since, but it was on a curved surface as yours was too.

I know that problem that SketchUp "forgets" hidden/smoothed edges. It's annoying. Unfortunately I don't know a fix. It happened to me only in huge models and I decided to correct it only when it was absolutely finished. It also happens to the exported version to Kerkythea. Especially evil if you rely on the "wireframe" procedural (that shouldn't show on smoothed edges).

TIG, Thanks for the code! I haven't had a chance to implement it yet, just had a new addition to the family and have been busy since 24th Jul. No time for SU, and this is the first chance I've had to view the forums in weeks.

I don't know if that applies, but I'll give it a try. My model has several components in it, and when selected have the blue border around them. If there was an object that was a long distance off, the box would be commensurately as large as the distant object. Also, the same is true when I scale the object, the scale box is the same size as the component. As far as FOV goes, the clipping occurs only when the object is being scaled, not when zooming in or out. This is the part I don't understand, why it disappears with scaling; when the model is visible, I can zoom in/out and no clipping occurs other than normal. EDIT: I just discovered that when I zoom in and work on an individual component, some bad clipping happens. I scaled the entire model from original size to 10% (I knew it was still visible at that scale), and went through the each component and applied "Scale Definition". Then reduced the model size down to life size and have had no further problems. Don't know why it worked, but it did. Here's the model, created for the sole purpose of, "How would I...?": [image: LAix_DPDT.jpg]
