You must put all the components in one global component. In this case, the origin will be the inner 0,0,0 of the global component and this one can be move anywhere.

Today it works as I would expect. The pdf file comes in clear, with a surprise. The background is transparent instead of white. That's nice. So what was happening before? 😒 I am going to edit my previous post.

Still does not come in at the correct size, but has to be re-sized (Hey Google team! ❓ ).

And if I update the pdf file (save in same name from my CAD file) LO will do the update at the size I have made it in LO. This is just one step from updating direct from my CAD. 🎉

Thanks for the idea, Gai! Although changing the paper size did not affect the insert size.

For window users including OP, you can do the same with .png, just save at a high enough resolution. Your background might not be transparent so put it on a bottom layer. It will also update.

For 3d Carving, I am using the following process:
SketchUp Pro ---> (export as IGES using IGES plugin) ---> MasterCam. --> Thermwood CNC
For 2d Cutting with drawing based control of cutting depths and tool use:
SketchUp Pro --> (export dxf) ---> Thermwood CNC
Thermwood CNC's can accept DXF drawings where the drawing layer tells the G-code generator what to do.

I wrote a Sketchup guide for my specific Thermwood CNC. Some information is applicable to other CNC's.

My other PC has an old ATI All-in-Wonder card with a driver I downloaded when I bought the card. I wouldn't dream of upgrading the driver that has now run all SU versions from ver.3 OK (if I keep Fast Feedback off). I have tried to keep the "if it works, don't fiddle with it" rule.

If you're one of the few lucky folks who's got an ATI card running SU with any degree of stability then I'd say you're spot on to leave it the heck alone! You've got someone up there looking out for you 😄
