i am not sure you can increase the number of segments when the model is so advanced as yours is. perhaps some of our SU veterans can tell us that.
but you sure can at the start: when you select the circle tool the VCB (lower right hand corner of the screen) informs you the current number of sides. you can change it before you tell SU the radius/diameter.
mike,
it looks good but there is room for improvement. unless you want it to look faceted your curves could have more segments to them. the handle is one region where you perceive the curve is made up by linear segments.
also, you should update your scenes. the only one that shows anything is the front elevation. the other ones show the object so far away that it is impossible to see it.
i do not know of any script that does both things but there is a script (PageExIm, to be found in Smustard) that allows one to export and import scenes from one file to another.
i always start any project sketching freehand on paper. then i move to the computer (sketchup and vectorworks) and test it in 2D and/or 3D. during the entire definition phase i go back and forth between hand drawing and computer.
it is only when all the main decisions are taken that i go exclusively digital. even then there may a need to sketch some little change before trying it out on the screen.
paul,
this is something to think about. i am not sure things are as bad as he portrays them but one cannot deny leopard is not exempt of problems.
as for myself, in general i do not jump immediately to upgrade my applications or OS. instead, i wait until the bugs are ironed out. i install minor updates at once but not big ones like moving from tiger to leopard.
since i have heard some noise about issues with SU and other apps i am staying put until good news are in the horizon. i am running tiger 10.4.11 and am very happy with it.
regards,
i have asked a similar question during the first days of SCF but cannot seem to find that thread.
my question is: what steps should be taken in SU in preparation to export a file for the purpose of rendering images in another application?
p.s.: should anyone be able to find that old thread please let me know.
yes, mike. indeed. it is the best screen capture+annotation app i have ever used.
lately i found another one that also seemed worth a try: FlySketch. have a look at it.
i have been amassing quite a number of interesting scripts. send me a pm with your email address and i will mail you a whole bunch of them.
andrew,
one of the reasons i am more than ever for a switch to mac is that it now runs both mac OS and windows.
so if you needed to run some windows-only app you could have it installed in a windows partition. the software that allows the double system arrangement have been tested long enough for one to be certain that it works well.
actually, by buying a mac you would not be necessarily leaving windows behind, as you could still be able to run it on your mac. and for free, as bootcamp comes with mac OS now.
sinceramente, não sei. melhor postar a pergunta no forum maior, mesmo num inglês imperfeito. certamente alguém vai te ajudar.
estás usando o comando position texture para acertar a proporção?
tom,
for what it is worth, for normal views i prefer the 2-point, but the ones looking up need the converging lines for effect. your "just for fun"pic is really good.
hi, fredo
at long last i have done the translation to portuguese you requested (see attached file). check it out and let me know if you need any changes.
and thanks for the updated version.
i have todd burch's centerpoint.rb.
point at center only works for me when i click on the perimeter of a circle.
ok, here it goes,

Edson what a marvelous project.
susan, thanks but the project is someone else's. bravilor's, or at least he is modelling it.
very good. i would just make the dark green grass a little lighter so that the trees can stand out.
