@unknownuser said: lominon or lumenRT ? ) Depending of what do you want Lument Rt Works only for Sketchup! But produce a standalone executive inside that you can walk and send to anybody! [flash=560,315:33cakuld]http://www.youtube.com/v/1GwU1LAb4Yo[/flash:33cakuld] Lumion is a standalone and has a terrain modeler like "Zbrush" + "realistic water"(and can manage some many elements) for the moment don't produce a standalone executive! only a video! (or still image of course) Price are not the same 295 $ / (1500- 3000$) so like no Pro / Pro But you can use Lumion in free mode : 1280*720 maxi (still - animation) with a little logo watermark [flash=560,315:33cakuld]http://www.youtube.com/v/pYHVVtdeCas[/flash:33cakuld] Farm by Gilson Antunes & Music [flash=560,315:33cakuld]http://www.youtube.com/v/QX8xj12d-UQ[/flash:33cakuld] 12 / 15 millions polygons 40.000 trees. 12 gigas ram - GTX 580-3Gb 3 days renders for 8.5 minutes movie Terrain 7.4 km x14 km

One thing that is very good is that with a minor codec tweak you can export very high quality movies. The default isn't that great.

http://lumionautics.com/interview-with-ferry-marcellis/ @unknownuser said: With Quest3D our development process is easy & fast… so there is a lot that can be done. On the short term, our goals are to incorporate features you might find in other application you use daily too… Like the creation of normal maps using Crazybump or nD02, or video editing using Premiere and After Effects. In the midterm we want to focus on what we do best and that is super quick end results. It is super important to us that our clients get their job done as quickly as possible and with high quality. This will allow them to do more work in less time or add more value to their own clients by providing much more revisions for example. In the long run, maybe we might try to give modeling a shot. It will continue like that I guess, but if it can replace Premiere and After Effects from my workflow. IThat's going to be interesting to me. And it would be quite useful, if SketchUp or Lumion can do this: http://youtu.be/Qhfl7dLs2fU IMO it is positive for workflow in SketchUp, when one don' have to use rendering software for most task any more I'm thinking about if the same thing going to happened with Trimble SketchUp. What people want to say

If you have photoshop, consider creating an action, and batch applying it to all the frames of your animation ( exprted as an image sequence). After that, use virtualdub to compile the result into an avi file

I haven't followed Football for years, mainly because it has become LESS violent. Heck. . you can't even put a bounty out on somebody anymore and try to seriously injur them and potenitally end their careers for a few measley bucks on top of their already grotesque salaries We have seriously lost our way as a nation . . . where have you gone Joe DiMaggio... our nation turns its lonely eyes to you. . . woo woo woo. Bounty Hunting Seriously I stopped playing football as a teen-ager because I no longer wanted to be perceived as a troglodite Quasimodo and wanted to pursue more intellectual pursuits . . .but I couldnt get anyone to sponsor me in NASCAR.

Thanks for your answers. And, regarding archviz, how do you make sure you will get paid? Do you place some text or watermark on the images/videos?

We all know that SU is not the "greatest" tool for animation, but I have to say that you have done really good job. Camera seams a bit jumpy in few spots. Overall, the client should be able to get what he asked for. What other software did you use to do this animation?

@solo said: @unknownuser said: Cuba - commies with nothing we want. They have awesome baseball players Oh and great doctors too. We import them too. In all seriousness, I find the Cuba/China thing as hypocritical and foolish as any other rational human would. But then, the US has a long history of keeping or putting bad people in power, supporting bad regimes, or finding ways to eliminate those that disagree with what the government wants. I find governments completely irrational. While I think that communist Cuba has a huge divide between the haves- and the have-nots, and there could be some serious benefits to becoming Westernized, I'm perversely kind of rooting for them because if they caved in that island would be overrun with casinos and all-inclusive resorts overnight. There wouldn't be much Cuba left, and it would become like many of the other tourist-dependent Caribbean islands. Poor people working at rich resorts for a pittance.
