And a good example of a high level of detail really helping with a pr render.

RE: Clay Renders in Podium
You should receive an answer here, but I would advise asking over at the Podium forum. There is lot's of great help there.

RE: Hello to everyone
You should be able to grab the roof by a corner with the Move tool and snap it the corner of the garage below using the inference engine, or am I not understanding your question.
If it has an overhang, snap to the corner as I suggested, then move the roof component the required distance along the x and y plane. -
RE: Double Standards by Apple?
Just answered my own question.
Synced my iPhone and iWobble is still there! -
RE: Double Standards by Apple?
I guess if you already have an Apple removed App though, it stays on your iphone?
What you don't want is on the next sync with iTunes, it disappears!

The people are interesting. Where did you get them? I like the style.
They are Formfonts models.

I have used this style myself very successfully for a planning application. -
RE: Hello to everyone
Hi Alan and welcome to SCF.
I have added a very quick and dirty video explaining a few simple methods of achieving what you want.

RE: Map Rectangular Patterns
SketchUp is perfect for this and fast.
You can move objects as accurately as you wish by typing in your dimension when moving, rotate to any given degree and by using the built in inference engine, you can snap to many points in the room or on other blocks.
You will need to use Groups and Components for your blocks, this way they will not stick and can be moved freely. -
RE: Improving my renders SKP=podium
A few really basic tips are, add detail. For example the second image. Should it have a gutter and rain water pipe? Ridge tiles?
Materials make all the difference. Collect a good set and things should start to improve. Spend time using the right material and ensure things like wood grain are running the correct way.You also need to look at using something like Photoshop or Gimp once you have rendered your image. All the good posted rendered images on this site will probably have had some sort of work afterwards.
Andy can you post one of the models such as the first one?
Just thinking it may be an idea for some of the members to have a go at rendering it and you can ask how they achieve their results.
P.s, love the building in the first image. I would be one happy guy with that as my office in a nice garden.

RE: [Plugin][$] Tools On Surface - v2.6a - 01 Apr 24
A minor issue and not sure if this is Mac related.
I can only get the default icons to show.
If I go into Default Parameters and choose IMAGES_DanielS then save changes, it does nothing. I can open the default parameters again and the box is un-ticked.
I have the latest version installed. -
RE: [Plugin] ExtrudeTools - Full Set
Just to let you know TIG and I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem on a Mac, but I have an icon image missing.
I installed the ruby and opened SU. The toolbar shows ok, but after closing down then re-opening, the first icon is blank.
I can live with it, just thought I would report it.

RE: Helix - not one full turn - HOWTO?
Nice information TIG.
Did you use another ruby for the stringer?

RE: My Project at College - Heritage - Ise Jingu Shrine
Well it's a very good presentation.
The layout sheet and graphics are very nice. Did you do this in Illustrator or Photoshop? -
RE: Fountain Pen
Eric, your sketches are fabulous. I'm very impressed!
Did you learn this style from anywhere, or is it your own? I like the way you sketch your trees, I must try this.

RE: New V-Ray Animation - Desmone Architects Demo Reel 2009
Loving the bit where the birds appear and the leaves fall.
The rendering of the brick building at that point is fantastic. It looks real. -
RE: Apartment Interior (Vfsu Mac)
Top class rendering. Vray really is awesome in the right hands.
The materials you have used are excellent, makes all the difference.Loving the mural/wallpaper on the back wall.

RE: New WIP - Corbu Shodan House - Update 2/05/10
These are excellent Dean. Great work!
It's a nice style you have and the building looks so good in this state of mid build. I really enjoy seeing the structure of buildings in a model.
My favourite is the last image. The concrete looks fantastic, especially the ceiling.

RE: Vue 7 Infinite
I am seriously considering jumping on the Vue bandwagon, especially since I have a job where I think it would prove useful.
Can one of you Vue users tell me if modelling a rough version of the following small quarry face and vegetation would be pretty much do-able in vue.
I am currently designing and modelling a building to sit on this site and to do it justice, I would love to produce a quarry face with lots of vegetation behind it.
I don't need to copy it exactly, just show something in a similar vain behind it.So if I model my building and add mats in SU, could I create this site in vue and import the su model to render?
