RE: Empty Groups Disappear?...Oh, and Hello Again!!!

Yeah, sorry, I should have explained...I can only use one hand, and Shift-click isn't assigned to any of my mouse buttons in SU. So Shift clicking would entail taking my hand off the mouse, hitting shift twice to lock, grabbing the mouse, triple clicking, taking my hand off the mouse, hitting Shift again to unlock it....
That's why my workflow requests probably look a little odd to people from the outside...
Well I can fully appreciate your situation Tim, I work the same myself only able to use my right hand.
On a side note I have just recently purchased a new Logitech mouse which allows me to map 8 functions to it. It is fantastic -
RE: Garden
Really nice looking scene Pete.
Not being into rendering, but wanting to make a start, can you answer me a few questions?
Are some trees and plants placed in SU and some afterwards in PS?
Is some of the grass, especially the bit at the bottom of the picture added in PS?Thanks

RE: What are beer prices in the US like these days?
Where I live in the UK you can expect to pay around Β£2.50 - Β£3.00 per beer (lager).
This is for a pint, which is how it is sold over here. Pint or a half. There is a difference in the wording here. A beer here would be different to the US beer. The equivalent would be a lager.
Anyway, it's pretty expensive in the Pubs and Bars, but very reasonable if you buy in the Supermarkets. My favourite it Cobra, an Indian Lager. Β£3.35 ($7.00) for a 4 pack in my local Supermarket.
I recently called in a new Restaurant in my City for a meal and noticed in the fridge Crazy Eds Chili Beer. I had to try it being a chili fan and it went down very well. Cost me Β£3.75 ($8.00)for one bottle though!
I have found a source in the Uk who stock it, just need to buy a crate of 24, but a lot cheaper than the Bar price.

RE: Cutting_windows.rb
I seem to be having a problem myself with this Didier.
I am using your posted skp to test.
Using your window component included I right click, click the four corners in a clockwise direction then finish with a fifth click on the 1st point.I get the 4 pink squares until I click outside the component on finishing.
If I double click and open the component, the axis is sat on the plane where the pink boxs were.Placing the window on the wall does not cut.
Am I missing a step? -
RE: How to make Hatchings ?
There is no hatch feature in SU like the one in ACAD.
You would have to apply a material to achieve the effect like Gaieus said.
There are some Sketchy Materials around wghich would be suitable for some types of hatching.Alternatively you could create your own.

RE: Scale component file size question

I really like the decaying cement, exposing brick texture Care to share where you got it?
I cant remember Tina. I spent a few hours last weekend trawling the net for images a free textures which I thought would be suitable. I could find the source, but it is easier to send it you

I said "We'll see" (meaning that I'd rather stay at home)
It seems those two words have the same meaning all over the world!
Julius, did you take the pictures used in the St Vitus model? It looks good

RE: What are gas prices in Europe like these days?
When I went to fill up last night it was Β£1.04 ($2.00) a litre over here in the UK.
That makes it roughly Β£3.93 a US gallon I think. So about $8 per gallon. -
RE: Foosball
Nice model Pete.
You certainly model lots of different things!Maybe you could be doing things like that for Form Fonts?
-
RE: Dryer Vent?
Im loving your model chip, great work. Looking forward to seeing this progress.

Street Scene Test
I decided to try my hand at something a little different.
I never really use images as textures and wanted to give it a go, so created this scene.First image is a straight export from SU.
Second I added a sky in PS, played with layers and added two trees. My PS skills are very limited, but hopefully I will get a better result after a little more playing.

RE: Time tracker
I thin we would all like to know sometimes how long we have spent on a model. I bet the reality is quite different to your perception!
I shall buy this script. -
RE: Great source for rug images
The rugs are only scratching the surface on that site.
Check out the section of pictures! A fantastic collection and quality images.

Here is a link for anyone who may want some information.

RE: Apple Safari 3 Beta?
Yes, I am still yet to try it. I was initially put off with reports of security flaws, although a newer version has been released with the fixes.
Version 3.0.2 betaI really want to give this software a go, the one thing making me think twice is transferring my favourites!
I guess if they are not transferrable it is a good chance for a spring clean.
