...easier than me starting over from scratch 🙂

Here's a semi complex one that sort of worked with 1.2, but on 1.3 it would only hang....

I might get this one printed in stainless, should only cost $100, and I can't think how else to make it.

I'm about to re-test it on my Mac and a PC comparison would show up if some of the problems are me or not...

If it fails first try, manually orient the reversed faces, then remove the internal disc on the bottom run and try again.

it 'should' remove the internal overlap on the bottom 2/3 twists (1.2 left these intact)

it might still make a hash of the end, Fredo's bend tool can be unkind to meshes.
I been running it without manual repairs

I downloaded a load of Ati driver stuff from apple in November, the drivers are all special builds for card machine combination, are can't find the link, but I'll keep looking.

Alternatively post your exact spec and if any one has the same setup they could copy you the driver, although they might work I found they aren't always backwardly compatible

the smc version number makes a difference

      apple weren't helpful

A re-start found the dialogs, so 1.3 would not pass this (which is correct) due to more then 2 faces per edge, also reversed faces made it through...

      TIG,

I have had it before, I just went back through the logs and buried in there is the same report, at least for 1.3, 1.4

Yes , and tons of info at wikipedia, but the way I described to my six year old if the computer trying to find the walls of a room from the inside and the window is open it will precede to circumnavigate the earth until it gets back to where it started and then panic... she believed me...

initially for 3D printing more directly from SU, but it has soo many other uses, it's worth helping out with some testing...

the 'pretzel' is posted up the top, TIG's name on front, that gives trouble on careful examination, small triangles round the back, I think... I've got harder tests but one step at a time, I got ahead of myself....

TIG......THIS IS SO FAST... I didn't have time to start the stopwatch on the boxes.....CHEERS

Sure...PM me a few sample models

Have you got the program?, I put a link at CornerBar, and really the test I'm suggesting you/and anyone else to do is just checking some of your own or 3D WareHouse stuff that looks watertight, and see how the plug behaves, cope, etc.. , then run the same model with Manifold1.4 (and rising) to compare results. It can then define some targets/parameters for this super-duper one TIG is creating. which is coming along very well indeed.

thanks for putting your head above the parapet..

      MORE TESTERS REQUIRED....

I've been testing TIG's new Manifold beta, which is extremely useful and came across this App for PC's only and I can't check if the plug will work on a Mac without a PC to download the App, so if someone has, or can have a look that would be grand

      http://www.virtualwind.com/

      info lifted from there site...

Virtualwind's advanced 3D wind flow simulation and visualization. Within SketchUp, Virtualwind's Validation Tools identify and visually highlight non-watertight geometries and problematic textures in the model. Non-watertight geometries are typically surfaces on building models that do not have contiguous adjoining edges (i.e., models that do not have a "wetted surface", a "water-tight" exterior). Problematic textures are usually faces with back-only textures or back texture different from front. The Virtualwind toolbar also provides Correction Tools to correct these issues. For non-watertight geometries, there are toolbar icons to remove zero-faced edges and to sew edges together, thereby helping to create a water-tight model.  There are also toolbar icons to correct problematic textures. These model corrections are important to provide more accurate wind flow simulations.

      TIG, found the dialog boxes,
I was getting a system error Plugins/BZ_Dir_13/bezierspline_main.rb:2098: warning: Object#id will be deprecated; use Object#object_id whenever I used your tool after using any of Fredo's tools so I fixed his script (at least I did what my system suggested) and have been working my way through some simple test to see what slows or breaks, only just got back to curves (no beziers yet), and I thought I'd post the successes, to date.
I wasn't getting this far before my fix
this was just to show, how drawing it right in the first place would save all these fails

I also found this and tried to get an evaluation download, but it's for PC's but may be of interest, it also adds to the list of NOT 3D PRINTING USES for Manifold Objects and flies in the face of my earlier comment on GEarth models.

can anyone confirm if they can see TIGtoolbar, while running manifold1.3, this drawing really slow compared to 1.2 and I just noticed I don't have the TIG-RRby icons in the toolbar which have never vanished before....

Check your files are in the same folders as shown in the original zip ?
It might be a bit slower running because the new algorithms ?
Try it one something simpler first ?? 😉

I was editing while you were writing, and yes Ill go back to the slow start procedure, It was simply tea time and I though "this model works with 1,2, I'll just quickly re-run it, etc.."

If the microscopic camera is a whack idea,

I don't think is such a whack idea at all,

      but,
could it not be implemented as a 'Scene Style' SU can already change pretty well everything else through styles, you can even drag an old styled drawing into a new one.

I for one already use a testing style, a watertight style , a rendering style all in one drawing, so having a `Let's Get #nnal' would be one approach.

If drawing in that environment everything 'off screen' could have a scale factor applied to it and so when I input 20 microns radius, SU just scales it up by 'X' (behind the scene), once small geometry is drawn, I've never noticed SU to reject it, so, you could then import/export from any style...

      is this whack??
