Thank you, sir. I could see myself actually building this one. If I had any room for another piece of furniture. Best, dh

Thanks, Cotty. The chair is pretty well grounded. Like you, JQL, I've always admired Thonet chairs. They're so simple and graceful.

Thanks, ntxdave. Let me see what I can do about a tutorial. Probably a piece of video. It'll take me a couple of weeks to get around to it, though. Best, dh

Thank you, gentlemen. The wood does look dark in the render, but the original is dark, too. Out west, the Greene brothers would probably have covered the screws with square ebony plugs as pbacot suggests. Rounded over all the edges while they were at it. I kind of like the exposed screws, though; I've seen that detail on other Mission pieces. Best, dh

And the real one probably weights 1000 pounds. Probably best to keep it on the ground floor.

I don't think Rietveld ever did a bar stool, so you're free to try your hand at one. Could be interesting.

Thanks, HornOxx. Here's a link to the 1stdibs listing: https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/storage-case-pieces/cabinets/german-painted-two-piece-bakers-cabinet/id-f_2505432/ As you can see, the original looks pretty gnarly. I wish there were an easy way to render aged or primitive pieces. I suppose I could create a style. . . Best, dh

Plus, if you look at the number of old tables with feet broken off, mechanical strength may have taken second place to appearance.

Thanks, Dave. I could say that the piece is on a large sheet of seamless background paper. But in truth, I don't draw a face on the ground plane. However, the model does rest on the ground plane. Best, dh

Dave, Plywood, yes. Drawers, probably not. I think the box is just a great big box. Impractical, but it sure looks comfortable.

Thank you, Dave. I'm always suspicous of three-legged chairs. Don't think these are suitable for a ten-course feast. Maybe just a bite of lutefisk. Best, dh

Nope. Not more than I wanted to know. I hadn't thought about it until now but the base would be turned separately from the urn so you can get it through the bandsaw sitting on its bottom. Makes sense and certainly safer.
