RE: Lincolnshire...
Looks like it came straight out of Dickens or Jane Austen.
Just throw in some of Majid's windmills now and I think you finally get the hang of this. . .

why do you need a shortcut for "Orbit" and "Pan"? For a laptop with touchpad?because I can.
maybe those are longcuts.

RE: More Star Wars crap
Great models as usual Pete. I would expect nothing less.
When watching the new trailer for SW 7, i did have a hard time figuring out why the designers would think that the most aerodynamic form for a flying motorcycle would be something that looks like a big Air Handling Unit.
But what do I know about such things.

RE: Dutch Windmills in sunset
Hard to believe those are models. Looks very post-card and pastoral. Very very nice.
But wait? Where's Don Quixote? oh yeah. . .that's Spain. Still windmills though. -
RE: What's the best way to learn SketchUp Shortcut Keys?
My shortcuts are pretty weird actually. But they work. for example. . ."W" for the pan, cuz it looks like a little Hand. "Q" for orbit, cuz it reminds me of the icon. "y" for the 'eye" The other thing is I put the most common tools that are easiest to do with i key stroke on the left hand so I can keep my hand on the mouse.
That kinda thing. I guess it doesn't really matter once you get used to them it becomes second nature. been that way for years.

RE: What's your beginners tip?
Well . ..I dunno. I use layer 0 exclusively for drawing and creating and use layers for groups and
components. But.. .to each his own I guess. -
RE: What's your beginners tip?
So I have a question here that I hope someone can help me with.. . or maybe this should go in the "DOH" thread. .. but for now. . .
How to import an ACAD 2015 drawing with "Smart 3D" walls into SU without dumbing it down first to an ACAD version 14 dwg or dxf. Can it be done? I've never been successful at this.
Thx,
David

RE: [Plugin][$] Profile Builder 2
So. . .how does one upgrade from the trial to the purchase. The pullout doesn't seem to have a license or "purchase" tab. Also, I can't find "Profile Builder 2" in the Ext. WH anymore. can somebody help me on this. Also, there seemed to be some chatter on this thread about purchasing issues. Have those been resolved?
Thx,
