John, epic failure! That doesn't look anything like Windsor Castle.

RE: Looking for feedback please!
Nice rendering, but I can see your point. Your building is too pristine - you need to add some weathering. I think Tadema explained how he added rust to his dump truck rendering in Photoshop. You might look at that. You might also want to rethink your composition so the flagpoles do not block the sign (on the building), and the rock formation is not aligned with the corner of the building.

RE: Some of my Latest, Shipping Containers
Nicely done, but I think the first image would look better with some context - the adjacent buildings (as shown in your later image), some people, vehicles, etc. Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to add some signage to illustrate the commercial space on the ground floor.
Also, have to agree with Box in that I don't see how you used shipping containers. It looks like conventional construction (perhaps that is what you wanted for the end result?)
I see you're in Brooklyn, which means you have to deal with ADA. How are you making the building accessible?

RE: Interior design
Very nice design, modeling, and rendering. That appears to be a TV at the foot of the bed? I hope the occupants don't kick it with their feet when they are "gettin jiggy widdit."

RE: Sketchup not just for architecture :D
nice modeling and presentation.
If you haven't seen them already, you might look at Ken28875's two threads on fantasy and sci-fi modeling:

RE: Tiger II Clay Renders
Looking great.
Since you've modeled the interior so well, it would be great to see, when it's all assembled, a cross section.

RE: How has the Olympic Games been for you and your country?

Mr Pistorius is taking part in the Special Olypics next week which is also in London. I'd imagine the experience he earned here will filter through to this inspiring event also. A great representative and heart warming to see the admiration his fellow competitors had for him.
Correction: Oscar Pistorius is taking part in the Paralympics, which are for athletes with physical disabilities; the Special Olympics are for those with intellectual disabilities. I was surprised, though, when I heard he was to be in the paralympics; although he meets the qualifications (amputee), by making it into the olympics, it seems to me he's proved he's not physically disabled. Anyway, hopefully we'll see him in Rio in four years.
Watching Pistorius race was one of the highlights, for me. And, seeing Lochte beat Phelps in their first race. The Summer and Winter Olympics are the only time I "get into" sports, and look forward to them with anticipation. Unfortunately, this go around, NBC's coverage of them left much to be desired, so I didn't see as much as I had hoped. Now there's Sochi in 2014 to look forward to; their promotional piece showed some very nice looking venues.

RE: My 1st su+mw rendering practice
Very nice, xyz. I like the messy bed - gives it a realistic look. But, I'm concerned by your disregard for safety by using a step ladder so close to the balcony railing.

RE: Question: Backup Files at different Folders!
Hmmmmm...it should be saving the skb file wherever you save the skp file.
You might try checking the preferences, and check the path name for saved models.

RE: Different render mood...
Very, very nice, Fred. Need to watch the direction of the wood grain, though.

RE: Compilation of designed works - poster WIP
Richard, you might look at adjusting your setting to create stronger shadows. When looking at the closeups, the buildings appear flat, to me.

RE: Little Thorpe
Another fin image, John. The black timbers look too flat (except the timber along the ground).

RE: Need help on american culture:
Richard, we've been making s'mores for decades before the obesity problem hit us. I think the real culprit is inactivity (too much time watching TV or sitting in front of the computer, not enough activity).

RE: Let the games (Olympic) begin!
Yes, it was very well done. Rowan Atkinson's skit was funny, and the Queen's, too. Also, one of the fastest parade of nations I've seen at an opening ceremony.

RE: Which Output you like
That's hard to say. If you posted either one individually, my reaction would be the same, as both express the project, only with differring language.

Ah, yes....we shouldn't forget the brown foliage at the base of the building.

They look great, Jason, but don't forget the menus and all the other "stuff" retailers like to put up.

RE: Sexhouse - concept design
Hmmmm....not quite sure why, but I'm thinking a dome on top of that central tower is what is needed.

RE: Cleasby
John, I dunno. Although I have fun modeling existing buildings in my spare time, I really love those rare chances when I get to model one of my own designs, and then see it through construction. I think modeling others' work everyday would lose it's appeal for me eventually.
