However, although he had surprisingly mastered the science of brewing tea in all it's permuatations, he was, to be honest, somewhat dim-witted, as illustrated by the rather odd situations he repeatedly found himself in. Our poor hero, Kevin the Office Tea Boy (whatever that is) failed to grasp the nature of the problem, and instead concentrated on the literal meaning of the three word 'global', 'warming', and 'problem'. With an alarming speed often displayed by such people when left to their own devices without supervision, KTOTB was nearly complete constructing his global air conditioner before anyone realized what was happening. Bali USED to be a nice place.

RE: Some Podium work
I picked it up at Target for 14 bucks. You guys are putting me to shame...all my time is eaten up by construction administration, so haven't had time to use SU or Podium, but it's been inspiring to see what everyone is posting.

RE: Some Podium work
Ross, I had the same problem with the blue tint on exterior Podium renders until I discovered I had to turn off the blue SU sky.

sewing sequins to his bathing suit. It was all part of his new plan....to be part of the first all male team to compete in synchronized swimming at the Olympics. And his partner was none other than Prince Edward (to the chagrin of Edward's wife).
Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, Tennessee to be exact, Daniel was returning from a hunting trip and ruminating on the odd prey he had bagged; a talking moose and a gray flying squirrel. What was even more amazing to Daniel was that before he mixed that cold medicine with the bottle of Bailey's he had never even picked up a gun, much less hunted.

RE: A Fun Little Game, Continued...
Granted, but I don't know what the hell you are talking about, so it doesn't count.
I wish I knew what to buy with all the billions of dollars I made from discovering the cure for the common cold.

RE: How to give a cat a pill
Funny! Reminds me of when I lived on a farm and had to teach a calf to eat solid food(for real).
I used to look after the cat of a friend of a friend, and it required a pill with it's meal. After listening to her instructions on how to give the cat it's pills (for kidney ailment, so it was important cat got it) in which it frequently spit it out, I opted to crush the pill between two spoons and mix it in the food. Problem solved. Seems logiocal to me, but I keep encountering people who go through the difficult task of trying to cram it down the cat's throat.
Cheese works good for dogs' pills too, if you don't have bacon handy.

RE: Art Terminology in Modeling
When modeling, it is usually at the design development phase (of architecture) and although i may not think in those specific terms, the thought process is there: is the building's composition of elements in balance, are the materials (colors) used appropriately. When setting up a scene for exporting an image, I follow the same guidelines of composition I learned when everything was done by hand.

RE: New Year's Resolutions
To put more money into savings. That's after I've bought all the 'necessities', of course, such as a new LCD HDTV, an ipod, a laptop computer....

RE: Are you 'good'?
Am I 'good'? No, I am BAD! Am I a good modeler? Yes, I think I am a good SU modeler. I wouldn't say excellent, though. I couldn't model a car with all it's complex curves, and truthfully I don't have any inkling to. I think there are a number of factors that a person can use to judge how 'good' a modeler they are: the complexity of the model, time, organization of the model, use of materials, and the ability to solve a modeling problem.

RE: Display Case WIP
Your rndering of the display case looks great, Dave. When it first popped up I thought it was a photograph.

RE: Maximum Render Size?
Dejavu....I remember posting on an earlier thread dealing with this same issue, along with the Google folks who informed us they were looking into the problem.
I played around with a simple model on both SU Pro versions 5 and 6. The maximum image I've been able to export is 4000 pixels wide, AA on, jpeg quality at it's highest. However, changing my virtual memory from 2000/10000 MB to 5000/10000 MB I was able to export an image at 5000 pixels with AA on, and 7000 with AA off. Bumping my virtual memory up to 9000/20000 MB I was able to export an image at 9000 pixels with AA off.

Soap Skin Bubble
Forgive my ignorance, but I've seen quite a few posts that mention soap skin bubble plug-in. What does it do, and where can I find it?

RE: Fun little game: Part Deux, continued...
Suddenly overcome with deep seatd shame and humility, Ross/Dash fell to his knees. "Oh the humanity" he cried out to the startled Dr. Hagen, and a few startled magnetized penguins. "I cannot go on anymore with this lie! I am not a tall, powerfully-built, incredibly handsome man of intrigue."

RE: A Fun Little Game, Continued...
Granted. Your bleu cheese is covered with a yummy gray fuzz. Bon apetit.
I wish I didn't have a cold, so I can enjoy my bottle of Bailey's without it interacting with cold medicine.

RE: My Newest Model - Greek Revival Residence
Looks great. However, you've made a mistake a lot of contemporary architects/designers seem to make with classical columns - they are placed too far back from the entablature. The neck of the column should be even with the face of the architrave.

RE: Looks like this could be a new second home !
Thanks Coen, for the new home. It's nice to see some familiar names, too, rather than get lost in the google groups ocean.
