    • Sketchup and autocad -Mitchel stangl

      Hi all
Did anyone see Mitchel's talk on autocad/sketchup at basecamp. I downloaded the video as I live in Australia anyway..
His technic is fine but the problem is how does he do hidden lines ? as the sketchup model is only a surface not solid and the solprof/soldraw command don't work Andrew

    • RE: Layout and Dimensioning

      Hi Gaieus
I do small to meduium mechanical designs, i have been using inventor for years
In sketchup or layout is it possible to have a detail (ssay a baseframe) to shown hidden lines, what i mean is if something is behind a object than it is drawn as a dashed line - remember your tech drawing days! - i love sketchup quick and easy.also if I export to autocad the solprof/soldraw command will not work because the model is NOT a solid. i'm just looking for a workflow..BTW i'm in australia

    • Technical / Mechanical plans

      Hi all
Is it possible to do Technical / Mechanical plans in layout
complete with dimensions and hidden linetype (dashed) similar
to autocad. What I would like to do is complete a design in sketchup
and finish the plans in layout Andrew
