Hi all
Happy new year from Australia!
Is there a way to export a mechanical type drawing to autocad with hidden lines shown. eg. if a component is behind its shown as a dashed line
Thanks Andrew
hi all
greetings from australia
i have been using su for a while but i still have some problems trying to "drill" a hole thru a cylinder. any tip??
andrew
Bob
Is that a ruby script ? It looks good

The link was in the topic Basecamp 2008. In fact, there are lots of videos to look at
Andrew
Hi all
Did anyone see Mitchel's talk on autocad/sketchup at basecamp. I downloaded the video as I live in Australia anyway..
His technic is fine but the problem is how does he do hidden lines ? as the sketchup model is only a surface not solid and the solprof/soldraw command don't work Andrew
when importing in acad make sure the units are set the match the sketchup file
andrew
Gaieus, have you used this script? The description said to select the lines you want to change -how would you do this ? andrew
Hi Gaieus
I do small to meduium mechanical designs, i have been using inventor for years
In sketchup or layout is it possible to have a detail (ssay a baseframe) to shown hidden lines, what i mean is if something is behind a object than it is drawn as a dashed line - remember your tech drawing days! - i love sketchup quick and easy.also if I export to autocad the solprof/soldraw command will not work because the model is NOT a solid. i'm just looking for a workflow..BTW i'm in australia
Andrew
Hi All
I have been playing with layout a bit..you know if I could dimension in layout It would be nice !
Andrew
wyatt
do you know the name of the script ? how do you make a hidden line style ?
andrew
Hi all
Is it possible to do Technical / Mechanical plans in layout
complete with dimensions and hidden linetype (dashed) similar
to autocad. What I would like to do is complete a design in sketchup
and finish the plans in layout Andrew
David
what i mean is like a technical drawing. if objects are behind they are shown in a hidden linetype Andrew
Hi all
Is if poss to have a style that shows hidden line detail ? Andrew
Hi guys I need some help again
If I pick in "free space" how do you control which axis
a rectangle or circle is drawn ?
Andrew
Hi
without using a ruby script, how do you mirror a selection
Thanks Andrew
