      Good resource!
Similar but different. I might have to start again then.

Here, I've made a start on the Pseudopolis Yard. How is it looking in relation to your resorces?
I'm modelling it from a pic of a plaster model that I found on the internet.

Got any particular building in mind? I could see if I have any references lying around which I could scan in.

That would be great, I want to make the Pseudopolis Yard.

predictable. Bloody Stupid Johnson's creations and the Tower of Magic are things that have to linger in my head before I begin to tackle them.

I think that AK might be wishing that Blood Stupid Johnson didn't have your way of thinking.

Awesome modelling BTW. You've inspired me to have an attempt at a different building after I've finished my current work.

      Nice model,

Truckers aren't the only ones that use old tech. The NZ Police still aren't even using a digital system. Here is my radio so you can listen to me on those boring drives.

      Maybe this can help!

Thanks for the resource, I managed to find some decent enough plans after searching on Goolge for... how many days???

Ive restarted the model and now have one side of the fuselage is almost complete. Oops, no! Guess I haven't... I thought I'd saved it before I made the changes and closed it... oh well! πŸ˜•

the plane is just as cool as the first model, like the way you go for alternative looking vechicles.hard to guess what the next one will be.Great modeling πŸ‘

Thanks, I just model what catches my eye when surfing. The first two models were quite simple because I wasn't going for accuracy and they both are very square. I thought I'd challange myself a bit.

      Is this Osprey?

Thanks for noticing, yes it it the Bell/Boeing V-22 Osprey.
It's not totally accurate because I've only modelled it off pictures because I couldn't find any better resource.

Hi all, thanks for your comments.

The procedure for making these models is quite simple really.
I start by making the model as you can see in the first two Dingo pic and texture them accordingly.

      1. Take snapshots of the top and sides and anything else that I need to texture.
      2. Use a paint program (I use PSP) and use darken to creat shaddow and darker areas.
      3. Put the new textures together into a single image file and import the image in to scale.
      4. Apply the new textures onto the model.
      5. Render the model for real shading.

      Hope this helps

Hi all, thought I'd put my latest model on this thread as it's along the same lines.

This is a Dingo Scout Car from WW2. I have a couple textured and a few skinned.

I agree with all previous comments, but I would also shorten the road and footpath to the grass line, or vice-versa because it looks like it could be the roof of the building from which the snapshot has been taken.

I like it though. Some bump on the walls would help to. And maybe a tree on this side of the house to break the big plain wall.

Good modeling. What are you using to render? The HDRI (i am guessing) is not the right one for a product render (see shutter button). You would want to use a diffed light (HDRI) for product rendering. The light itself is really strong too. You are getting some burn. All in all it is good just needs a bit of tweaking.

      Scott

      Thanks for the comment.
      I am using Hypershot.
I have been using the standard HDRIs that come with the application with the enviroment turned off.
This time I have changed the HDRI and adjusted the brightness and gamma.
The shot looks a bit plain, me's thinks, but there is no burn.
What kinda HDRI would you suggest for a 'product shot'.

wow could we see some wireframe? Thats really cool and detailed. πŸ‘ πŸ‘ HOw long it take to make it?

Oh, and it took about 3 days (on and off, though mainly on)
The little grooves took a lot of time and the test renders took up some time too.
      I have a few progress renders: http://picasaweb.google.com/CrazyEyes0/Renders#

      Hi Crazy Eyes,

      Very nice and realistic work.
I've one question : the pillar is on the neighbor's property ? πŸ’š

You have sharp eyes. The pillar on the final renders are in the wrong place, that was just me screwing up the perspective. So no, the pillar, as in the plan view would be on their own property.

      Hi, Jeff.
We have met "emaily" before, I said hi to you through this forum.
All the Resource Consent and what-not are not my concern, I'm just the modeller. Apparently the 1st floor joists all sit on "I" beams.
