Is anyone able to help me with a lighting issue I'm having?
Im using twilight render, and I don't like the light reflections on the ceiling...

Here are couple of other renders too.

Please, on C&C on the rendering modelling, not the design, as I have no control over the design.

PS, Im doing this as a hobby, not for money.

      Cheers

Looks real good Marian, but I've tried rendering the flame with Twilight, and it's a no-go. I would need some sort of diffusion template to achieve it, but alas, there is no such thing. 😞

      Smeghead!

Thank you Marian for your helpful contribution!

As for the comments on the supports, I didn't design this, smeg did. I just built the model from photos off the internet. I guess that the four posts are sufficient. I did try to model the gas flames, but that was beyond my skill level.

      Cheers

Should come in really handy - thanks πŸ‘

You might want to take a look at the gas knobs as many of the faces are missing and need repairing.

They are there in SU, but because it's rendered in Twilight, the opacity is set by the twilight material, which in this case is a dull semi-transparent plastic. The material is "Knob Plastic" in the materials.

    • Boat materials

      Hi all,

Im coming here because Im stuck. Ive made a model of an Ocean Rowing Boat and Im trying to render it. I am trying to get three shots of the orientation and render it using Twilight. The three shots would be the boat made out of wood, fibreglass and carbonfibre. I have tried, using Kerkythea materials and making adjustments and have tried different lighting backgrounds and hdris but they still look bad. Is anyone able to assist me?

I have been modelling for years using sketchup, but my renderings still quite fresh.

I have made the model for my friends website as he is going to row across the Atlantic solo. Im making presentations and website for him for free, so I thought someone could give me some much needed guidance.

The model is here on the 3DWarehouse http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=5cc937e96e3324ff3b3707d44d18c32a

      Pre thanks

      Marian,

I love the way that your models look like parts are made of plastic and are clipped on. I'm not saying that they don't belong, I'm saying that they suit the model and look like a proper component. I'll have to catch up some time when I'm home. Take care mate

    • Add-on Bedroom

Hi all, I thought I would share my renders. I am not the designer or the architect, I'm just making pretty renders to show the client. I have decided on the decor though. The models are off the 3DWarehouse, so thanks to those who recognise them, if you want you can give yourself the credit. πŸ˜„

The bathrooms are up to second render. The wardrobe and bedroom is at the first render. I haven't rendered the wardrobe and bedroom with the roof on yet.

C&c welcome. I know I stil have a lot to learn. Rendered in Twilight.

Hahaha, I know. Glad I wasnt trying to do it on my old 2 core duo πŸ˜„
It used to take 20 minutes to render an image that this one does in 1 & 1/2 minutes

PS, Thanks solo for sorting the video out for me

    • RE: WL House: Video

Thanks R for your comments. The flickering was that I didnt reuse the lighting in each frame so the lighting changes in twilight. I found this out after.

Also, the animation is controlled by the SU scenes, so I have very little control over the animation.

The former I can fix by making sure the setting are correct before I render. The latter I can fix by using a different renderer that allows camera control.

      Hi all,

I thought Id share with you my last job. Its far from spectacular, but the next one should be better. I've never rendered an animation before. Its rendered in Twilight and took about 5 full days and nights to render the whole thing.

How do you insert a YouTube video? mine doesnt seem to work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eugs-WPDzZI
