VERY cool mate, I actually wanted to do this once. I had a real knack for making model scale trees - I found the right plant for the twigs to make them from in other words. I'd get so engrossed in getting them right it was hard to hand over the model in the end.

Thank you all.
@Bryan: Yes, it is, and the most difficult part was the placing of the holes so that all parts can be assembled like this
Truly brilliant!
I just gave it a try. It almost works perfectly.
I started on the left. Second from right is the results after running the plugin. Note on the right that the interior faces didn't get hidden. The seams still show because those faces bleed through.

After manually hiding the internal faces.

I wonder if it could be made to be one step undo-able, too.
Yes, absolutely.
However, the ribs typically are cut and erected square and hand reshaped prior to the attachment of the planking. Very often ships were planked (or "ceiled") inside as well so they would be tapered on both sides.

I have seen game developers use a similar process for low poly buildings/office blocks. They add another layer between the light component and the building skin...like curtains/desk/chairs/people etc. The effect can be quite convincing and purely 2D.

Thank you for the infos. I would love to see some pictures of printed parts, do you have some which you can share?
@cotty @dukejazz
Yes I do!. Ill try and up load some later today. And infact I am going to be printing a large part soon that some folks on this forum helped me (learn to) slice up that should showcase some of the rostocks strengths. I'll keep you posted either here or in another thread.
