You need a quad mesh to be able to map it to the flat surface... but there will more work to do to make it a "nice" solid...

Unsigned has nothing to do with working or not. How did you install it?

If they fall, the glass with the holes is probably incorrect? You can use Fredos convexify (part of FredoTools) to subdivide it to convex shapes ...

Looks like the complexity of your models has increased over time

Your target group should only contain the face, in the image it looks like is's a 3D volume...
For a more detailed help you should update the model itself.
