I don't think I could disagree with you more! I

That is ok ..in fact I agree with everything you have said. I would just like a clear separation between pay and no pay. I am suggesting that product announcements continue but in their own unique space. This in fact would make new products easier to find and would keep them away from the member/user motivated posts related to product reviews.

      I like that idea. 👍

      I Like it too.

Could I suggest any kind of collaborative effort from people here in the name of the future expansion of SU tools?
I don't know how, but many shareware products often gives discounts or licenses to people betatesting. I was making some localitations to spanish for instance to get some of the shareware (my direct translation to spanish is better than my inverse to english).

    • RE: Introducing Google Chrome OS...

Anything new, compared to windows has many possibilities to be a better product. For me Google is more Apple-like in its software methods so it is welcome.
The only reason I find for one system to survive or not is the public knowledge and acceptation, I don't write drivers for any condemned platform. For us, the mac users, is a fact that any company who wants to get a great business will do it with our community if they do things right, if not there is a smaller portion of the PC world but for how much time?

      Where are the files/ruby located?

      localhost/Users/me/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/plugins/3skenglt (folder)/

      localhost/Users/me/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/plugins/3SkengltExtension.rb

it requires 'sketchup.rb' and 'extensions.rb', in the same plugins folder.

Why don't you simply make the windows on an horizontal panel with "windowizer" and next use "shape bender" to convert all the group to a curved surface?

I read about this one before but any new is always welcome for me.
This model is a little priced anyway. You can find more robust and versatile cnc drill machines from China actually for similar prices or even cheaper. This one is more ecological.

The problem is with the compspray.rb

      Update it from here:

      http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=11746

Didier had a bug in it that was breaking the progressbar, but he fixed it nicely. So just update that, then it should work.

Let me know if that does not help.

      Chris

It didn't work with new compspray, but I removed it and it worked!

It's working fine again after compspray removing too on Mac

      Coronel,

It just clicked on the 3skenglt© for Google Sketchup 7.mpkg file.

I could not find out where the mpkg file installed the working files: definitely not in the plugins folder.

When you say you "manually" installed it, just what did you manually install??

I looked for the installed files and was trying the plugin moving them to different possible locations where SU could find them. I made a probe with another user account library, in documents folder like some rubys do, in the own SU folder plugin... I was reading the ruby and its needed files and all seems to be in the right place but I still get start up errors.

I was reading their forums and made same post there too.
Thank you I will try with their support mail.

I just downloaded this plugin and it works fine on my MacPro.

2x2 Ghz Power PC G5 with 10.5.7 and SU 7 here.
I make several attempts and no luck. I also did a manual installation but no luck. I only got some console message errors depending on the path of the installed components.
Could you please write me your components paths? Thanks

    • RE: Managing Rubys

OK. When I said their web page I'm referring to those that have one.
We have the Chris Fullmer example here, he is a good approximation to what I'm talking about. His plugins have a nomenclature who stars with his initials, this way I know they belongs to Chris tools and all are grouped in my plugins folder.
Even a text file with instructions is not always present when you download some rubys, with some words about the required components, etc.

Sometimes I need to log here looking for the animated demo of some ruby that I not use for some time or what ruby do that I need but can't remember at this point. I had a brain stroke some years ago, but this is common when you have a lot of rubys with more or less descriptive icons.

Well, I don't know how exactly, probably most of the ruby programmers are clever people, much more than me, but SU is turning more and more chaotic for moments.

    • Aling window

For those who are new in the 3d world is difficult to understand why is so complicated to align objects in all this programs.
I would like to get a window where I can select two or more volumes and align or distribute them like in Freehand, with the option to do it in X,Y,Z or a combination of axis and face to face option too. A window like the mover script but for alignment.

There are some plugins to do it manually in SU but very complicated and slow.

    • RE: Managing Rubys

I agree with most of the suggested features here but I find another problem with rubys:

Sometimes is difficult to remember all the scripts features you have installed or even if this menu in your program belongs to SU or to a external plugin.
I think there must be a protocol for SU plugins creators to install all under the plugin menu and have their example .swf file under the help menu or contextual menu with their web address too. On the other side they could specify if this plugin is no longer needed for that SU version when you visit their web. Many scripts I found have very poor information.
