It's a different beast to the other CAD software though and look at Blender.
I can upgrade and have done a number of times I'm not still on Sketch-up 3 lol
I just looked at the full list price and thought if this is the way it's going where will the retail price be in the future ??

I have used since Sketch - up 3 what 10 years and It's my weapon of choice but Jeez

This would be really useful as I have to show studies to clients and a date clock running in the animation would be great

I tried to upgrade and it took me to a pay page for an additional £90 or something which I then have to go through the ball ache of hassling a director with a credit card and all the blah you have to do when purchasing through a company.

This is aimed at making more money for trimble not making anyone else's life easier as with all the new subscription models - adobe etc

squeezing extra revenue is the game

My home set up I will probably upgrade but I'm just pointing out that it's more difficult in industry especially with sketchup being a secondary tool compared to the main CAD software

So, I got the company to buy SKP2015, do I get 2016 upgrade without additional payment and then I can just stick there or have I got to justify a subscription to the company. I'll probably just let it expire as 2015 is fine at the moment ??

Apologies if this is already answered but my extrude to 3D lattice doesn't seem to work, it was working ?

I have been using Promap 3D models in the UK but the models are pretty basic a bit like Google Earth but with no textures. How did you get or who made the 3D models of the buildings of the city ?

I suppose you could hollow the buildings out so you are only printing a wall thick enough to stand up ?

What am I doing wrong, I'm trying to extrude to a 3D lattice and I put in the depth and materials etc but it just gives me faces...as in not extruded into a frame ???

If the model was fine in 14 I can't see the problem apart from something in the code or OS X
maybe even the hardware ??

I can't really post it as it has a large 3D Zmap that we have purchased and sensitive client proposals.

I didn't use Vray when making the V14 models but I have started using the "visualiser" plug in ?

and various other modelling plugs

I click the file, the file opens I can see the model but it just hangs in spinning beach ball mode, I have to force quit to be able to even flick to other programs

I have upgraded and recently gone back to some files that I created in SKP 14 months ago.
They freeze just after opening with the spinning beach ball and I have to force quit

I'm using this commercially after convincing my practice to go with sketchup for design work !

Archi Cad models come in with the lines hidden and no group structure so you can't see the selection or what you have grouped.

Still, can't work out why what you have selected becomes unselected by itself

open model and make a selection of a number of floors - spin spin - selection goes blue and just before I can group it it disappears not the geometry just what I wanted to select

What turn hardware acceleration off ?

It only renders like that when I export an image while within a group with the rest of model on hide ?
