Once you have brought your colour chart into SU you can always just use the tool in material edit called "Match Colour on Screen" or simply use the Alt key with the Paint Bucket to sample the colours you want.

Ghost Component might help you out.

RE: Shape bender problem
Two things,
make sure the line isn't part of the group
and move the mouse over the line until it highlights, I find it isn't always exactly where the cursor thinks it is. -
RE: What I learnt today....
So true Gai, but I meant the learned friend reference.
I always find it interesting that people who speak English as a second language often have a better understanding of the actual construction than the native speakers. -
RE: What I learnt today....
Once you have learnt or learned that in this context the words are verbs and that learned in the second context is an adjective you are well on you way to be a learned man.

RE: Remote viewing of Sketchup sessions in real time??
I use skype all the time as I live thousands of miles from anyone I know or even work with.
It won't do exactly what you want.
You can share your screen with her or she can share hers with you but you can't do both simultaneously.
So you can show her something then you'll need to swap the screen share so you can see what she does, not ideal but certainly free and easy to do.If you both happen to have two computers you could set up two skype accounts each and it would work that way by sharing one way on one PC and the other on the other , but you can't run two accounts on one PC at the same time.

RE: Did a God or Gods create the universe? EDITED
I'm not really sure what your video has to do with the subject of this thread but it did lead me to this rather interesting Christian viewpoint.

RE: ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM

You keep complaining about zooming yet you don't explain your problem.
Perhaps if you did someone might be able to suggest a solution.
It could be that you are experiencing clipping, which is common and often fixable, however without details or an image nobody knows or cares what you're shouting about. -
RE: Deleting Section Plane
Sounds like the same problem, did you create the section inside a group? If so you need to be in that group before the unhide will work.

RE: Spastic move tool.
In Model Info/Units adjust the Length snapping, and precision.

RE: Workflow tools
This must be some kind of record, three and a half years from the thread start to it's first post.

RE: Add material to a component
You can simply paste the chairs into the component while open for editing, or move them into the component in the Outliner window.

RE: Need some horn help
This is Curve maker and Taper maker and then simple follow me for the squeezy bit and the bell.
Obviously not correct but it's 2 minutes work and using those tools you should be able to get what you want.

RE: [Plugin] Super Drape
That is odd Tig, I removed it and tried again.
Same thing, not in the extensions until I restart, the toolbar was there straight away.
It's not an issue, just odd, and I was looking in the right place. -
RE: [Plugin] Super Drape
Ok, but what I was pointing out is,
When you load it using the new tool in extension preferences, it tells you it is available (and may well be) but it doesn't show in the extensions list until you restart SU, and then it isn't ticked.
At least this is what happened for me.I'm not complaining or anything, just making a note.

RE: [Plugin] Super Drape
A tiny bit of feedback, the RBZ install works and says it is available to use, however you do need to restart SU for it to appear in the extensions list.

RE: Working with wrought iron
We used to knock one out in about half an hour, but that was many years ago now, very much doubt I'd still be able to make one.
I was in an old steam locomotive workshop so we had great forges and foot controlled pneumatic hammers which made life much easier.
Getting the heat right takes the most time, the actual metal work part is quite quick, as you have to work fast before it cools.I found a video for you of a guy making his first one.
