Barry, that worked just fine for me on my MacBook Pro. Thanks.

I don't think it can hurt. Not knowing the full extent of why it takes longer like Jeff does, I can't guarantee it.

Well, great news on this! I had always operated on the assumption that the layers acted like illustrator layers, where layer hierarchy had no bearing on where objects in the drawing were in the stack. Now that i know that the layer position reflects the location on the page, I am quite liking how it is set up. Thanks Barry for clarifying that for me. The more I learn, the more I appreciate how slick Layout works.

Thanks Barry! And updating dates across pages, too; that would be excellent

Nice! I've wanted to do this in the past and didn't realize I could.

@bjanzen said: Barry: Your questions though brought up a good point, though. There is an issue here with setting scale. If I have a model view, usually it has a scale of some default value based on the camera from SketchUp, e.g. on my test case it was 1:82.9117. I want 1/8" = 1' , or 1:96. When I change the scale, I now have "(Modified) My Scene Name". And what's strange, is that we snapshot this, so that if you change the style for that scene, you wont see your model view change unless you go back to the standard scene (and your scale to 1:82.9117! And it does this in Raster, Vector or Hybrid rendering. I think this is what's confusing a lot of people when they update their model (in addition to not saving styles, then scenes, then the model). We'll be working on how to address this / fix this to be less confusing. I've noticed this too. My workflow? Save changes in SketchUp > Reselect Scene in LO (so there is no longer (modified) next to the scene reference) > Update reference in LO > Switch back to desired scale Smoother operation for this situation would be very welcome.

+1 to guides in LO +1 to layer not print +1 to offset fillet (and stretch besides of scale) What about having Vector and Hybrid modes that would render correctly and differently hidden, and soften lines? One would be as dashed lines the other as dotted lines, and both would export to CAD with line styles?

But what about a Layout generated shape? I want to place a white rectangle, with opacity of 20% over the lower model, and then i want to place another model instance above the filled rectangle. On my mac system, at least, it is proving impossible to hide the lower model as it seems that model instances are always above everything else, no matter the arrangement choices. I am attaching an image of a Layout page. The grid lines were place above all else, the model was sent to back, and the red square should be between them. As you can see, the red square should be covering up the model and the grid lines should be visible above the red square, neither of which is happening. [image: yjUa_Picture1.png]
