      max,

in order to install this toolbar i removed all my plugins and started moving them back carefully in order no to have double copies. in doing so i realized that another toolbar you made (ARCHILAND toolbar) has a folder called CD_ICONS, the same name of the icons folder for the powertoolbar. my question: is it ok to have both folders with the same name? will not there be some confusion between them? what should i do?

Edson, there will be a problem with 2 folders the same name as you'll be asked if you want to replace the old with the new, which you do NOT want to do! What I did was simply place the contents of the PowerToolbar CD_ICONS into the other CD_ICONS folder (or vice versa) by copy all and paste.

Max, thanks for another great addition to SU!!!!

I don't know man, Smith clearly stepped out of bounds. The refs blew this call twice.

    • RE: Fee question

Given what you just posted, I say $750 is fair. It probably equates to $75-100/hour and it's in the range of affordability. SU models are a tremendous asset to the contractor as well; this should not be overlooked when you negotiate your fee.

Let us know. The building, while beautiful, looks fairly simple to model.

EDIT: I never get too hung up in hourly rates except for additional services, so if you underestimate your time, so be it. The only time I ever did a model for another architect, I charged $2,500. It was a fully textured model of a 5,000 sf house where the roof could be layered off to expose the floor plan with full height walls. I did get the impression that my fee was a little high, but I got paid.

    • RE: What happened to Krisidious?

I agree, Mr. S. I do remember his battles in the Corner Bar (not unlike mine, I guess) and admired his SU skills and contributions. Maybe he'll return.

Thanks for the responses as I've been wondering this for a while now.

I think pointify converts vertexes into construction points. Do a search and you'll find plenty of posts on the subject.

Max, as Ross just pointed out, the icons representing the gable, mansard and hipped roof designs are mixed up. The pyramid roof icon is correct. I have renamed the icon (.png) files appropriately and am attaching a new CD_ICON folder here so others can replace the old folder with this one. I hope this is a permissable act on my part.

      CD_ICONS.zip

EDIT: Ohhh...and thank you very much for a wonderful tool!!

How can Capitalism be divorced from the practice of Capitalism?....Capitalism is all about anti-competitive practices that actually detriment free-market principles....You see Capitalism in its current form is actually detrimental to the practice of free-market enterprise.

Read my post again. I'm distinguishing capitalism from those who practice it.

Capitalism is precisely the opposite of anti-competitive. It thrives on competition and innovation. The inverse is probably more true: competition and innovation need a capitalistic environment to thrive and flourish. Innovators and doers need to know their efforts can be rewarded within a capitalistic environment; one owned by the people. Corporations aren't the only entities who practice capitalism. You do, I do, the corner store owner does. You can't define system by looking only at large international corporations.

I'm baffled as to why you think "capitalism is detrimental to the practice of free-market enterprise". I think exactly the opposite. Please explain.

    • More Customizable Toolbar

Like most folks, I assign keyboard shortcuts to certain functions. To save screen real estate and to allow for the addition of more custom icons, I would like to eliminate those native icons for which I have assigned a shortcut. Is it possible to break apart the toolbar "boxes" into individual icons which could be eliminated?

EDIT: I meant to post this in the regular discussions forum. Could a moderator move this there?

It's been an interesting diversion while it lasted. I do have to say I'm not overly comfortable making fun of people, so from that perspective I'm not sad this thread will die. Kevin, you must know that you're pissing people off by not FIRST trying to help yourself regarding your export/import issue (or whatever it was) and your overall forum demeanor needs improvement.

Writing "minus well" instead of "might as well" or "ratung my stuff bad" instead of "rating my stuff bad" is uber bad spelling, not clumsy or hasty typing. The grammar is priceless though, isn't it?

What gets me is your complete lack of spelling sense, Kevin. You really can't be 21 or 22, are you? If so, your high school should be sued for malpractice.
