Has anyone used one of these with Sketchup?
Many years ago I was using this Astroid 6000 with Solidworks, the website is still there and the drivers for a few MCAD programs are still downloadable.

Dave R, in hidden line mode, the same thing happens as in a monochrome face style, single click selects an edge or face quickly, double click selects a face and its boundaries, quite promptly triple clicking selects a face but if the edges were already selected, they deselect. In wireframe single clicking and double clicking have a slightly quicker response but single click selects an edge, double click adds two adjacent faces but still no triple click.
My project is now complete and it hasn't been a major problem, but curious since its only in this model.

Elisei, I would show it to you but the internet connection here is a bit slow. 30Mb will fail, I tried a few times to upload this to Trimble Connect a few times recently for another purpose.

Dave, the triple click thing works in other smaller models and ones of similar size. And Ely, my model is about 30Mb, not too big, and I can also do things like intersect faces without much delay.

In one of my models (which has grown quite large of late), the ability to select all connected ungrouped entities by triple clicking has stopped working. Not just slow. Is there a toggle somewhere? I can't see it in Preferences. I can still make groups but its a bit tedious hiding everything else in order to make a selection.

Has anyone announced the first Layout plugin? Has anyone heard of anyone working on one?

I've heard that you can have a model based on another Sketchup file which updates when the original is edited. That would mean you could have several versions of a file that are linked. One edit fixes a few files.

Is that right? I'd like to do that, can anyone suggest how?

I've been getting some strange measurements showing up on dimensions in Layout. I've tested on a nice simple model and did get precise dimensions when exported to Layout but now its happening again in my current project. - I've got a nested dimension (within a larger but correct one) showing 37 where I know that it should read 3690. Its within the bounds of the viewport (so it isn't that old Autocad viewport scale error happening), and when that dimension is selected the Dimension Style panel options show Decimal, Millimeter and 1 for precision. I can edit but would prefer it to work.
What are the things that cause problems for dimensions? I know they fall over if you move dimensions around too much.

In fact they are uncertain about their future. I hope the parent company can see a way for them to continue.

No problem using the tool this time, cotty, just want to use a shortcut. So you just type it in to find it ..eh.

Thanks Pilou, that's nice, the right-click option is on a flyout of a flyout which takes three efforts of concentration, first to find the correct menu, then twice more to avoid missing the menu flyout item, often I click and hit the neighbour. Yeah, first world problem, I know, but I'm using it quite a lot these days and keyboard shortcuts are mindless. & I'm bone lazy.

I'd like to set a keyboard shortcut for 'intersect faces with selection' but I can't find it in the list in System Preferences. Its a right click menu item, is there a way?

I've written to their support staff to ask what's going on. Paying for and committing to software isn't a good idea unless the company has a plan for the future. If they're going out of business or just dropping the ball it would be money better spent elsewhere.

I just went to their website to find out more about the plugin and they said they won't be selling it now.
Does anybody know the story? I thought it looked like a useful plugin.

I've made an animation once before which worked well with a few scenes. Today I've set one up and when I click on Export - Animation I get a message to say that at least one scene must be included!!! They're there, waiting, I've set them up, how do I point to them?
