What I want to do is put by best work up there on the Trimble Cloud so that I can access it from my iPad and do some renderings in Procreate and layouts in Morpholio Trace. Maybe I'll do some more design work sometime.

A how to?

I did eventually work out how to get models uploaded onto Trimble Cloud but that was really hard work. What a clunky UI! Surely there's a 'how to' somewhere. I made a folder eventually, but moving stuff around? Its worse than that old Apple iTunes.

Just coming back to Sketchup for web after five years of no Sketchup.
This new free web version will do me fine, and because I'll be using it in the browser from my iPad and Windows computers I'll need to use the Trimble Cloud thingy.

Is it just me? I can't work out how to get things uploaded, downloaded, saved,
just the most basic things. Nice and minimalist - yeah.

Does anyone know a tutorial for dummies?

Good on you Dave, you're a gem, that fixed it, now it does what I want it to and the trays remain.

That sounds about right Dave, they say ignorance can kill. Can it be corrected or should I re-install?

Always keen to get the latest, I've got Sketchup 2018 and changed the default template and set up my trays as I like them. No offense to Stacy but she's the first thing I changed. The trouble is she keeps coming back and my arrangement of trays is no where to be seen. I went File>Save as Template with 'Set as Default Template' ticked but Stacy still comes back next time I start Sketchup.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys, theres a few alternatives and I'll look at each. Not to discount Unity but I suspect that it will end up being influenced by the fact that I have friends with a good knowledge of both Unreal Engine and Blender which will likely give me a boost and save time.

Perhaps I'll modify this now that I've found the place in Preferences where they are set, now I'm rebuilding, can anyone suggest a list of useful shortcuts?

A few weeks ago ALL the keyboard shortcuts for Layout stopped working. Surely its a toggle I've bumped somewhere?

Hi all, I've been enjoying Chip Walter's article on the front page of Sketchucation;

"How to go from SketchUp to Unity using PBR materials"

This looks great, I think I could learn this but I've been wondering if there is a similar workflow with Unreal Engine? Friends are telling me UE would be better than Unity, but that would only be true if there were an established path like the one Chip demonstrates.

It turns out that it has to do with geometry on layer 0. I was getting lazy and left a few items there and in fact my linework meant for the vector viewport was also still on layer 0. However, even after tidying up the remedy didn't show in Layout on 'model update' but until I'd restarted Layout.

I've been having a great time today making nifty double viewports, a vector over a raster, and its been going swimmingly until suddenly my vector viewports are opaque! For the last one I was clicking around, making sure transparency was enabled in the Sketchup style and whatever else I could think of and somehow after all that it turned transparent when I turned it into a vector. But I have no idea what I did and now the next one is just not changing no matter what I do. Does anyone know what this is?

A few months ago I did a quick test of a plugin that cut through a model. Draw a line and it divides everything in half; groups, components and all. I've just been searching for it in the Plugin Store and although there are a few with these kinds of descriptions I still can't recall which one it was. I'll go ahead and try them but can anyone prompt my aging grey cells?

I'm told there is no point upgrading from an Intel i5 to an i7 since not many programs are designed to make any use of the extra cores in the chip. I imagine it would help Sketchup if it has a rendering plugin but for everyday house design? Can anyone confirm?

While working yesterday I message popped up: 'A new version of Sketchup is available, download now'. Did anyone else get the same or is it the Nigerian version?

Profile Builder 2

A neat plugin I paid for via Sketchucation isn't working since I had to repair this computer. I've reinstalled all my licenses but one plugin I bought in the plugin store here tells me 'license not found for...' everytime I start Sketchup. I've been to the plugin store and clicked 'update all my plugins' but what else do I need to do?
