Sample Model for Rendering - Water
-
I have placed this model, created by Boothy, on the 3D Warehouse to use for making rendering samples with various rendering products: Water Effects Sample
Render it with your favorite rendering package, post the results here, and I will place them in the Sample Renderings section of SketchUpRendering.com.
Besides seeing samples of various rendering packages, the purpose of this thread and/or the SketchUpRendering.com site, where we will post these images, is to show SketchUp users the value of using add-on rendering packages to improve the quality and value of SketchUp models and images for internal or client presentations.
It is OK to change materials, backgrounds, lights, and other rendering settings – but do not add or change other geometry – unless there is something wrong with the original model.

as lumion is almost predicted for it i also made a quick animation.

Nice work on the video.
It really highlights how the water is a procedural bump map and not just a flat material

Nice scene Al!
Could you post a v7 skp file too? -

For this image, I placed some lights below the water level, turned off the sun, turned down the sun and placed a procedural bump on on the water, and zoomed in on the shark.
Rendered with IRender nXt - using alternate Rendering Engine 4 - which s better for caustic effects. Allowed to "cook" overnight for 625 passes. No post-processing

Here is my attempt. This was a 3 and a half hour render with 70 passes using Thea with TR1. I kept the original materials and only added custom bump and reflection maps. I also did some post processing work with Gimp and DenoiseMyImage_Free. The HDR image that I used is form http://www.hdrlabs.com

Why don't you post on Twilight site?
They have plenty of examples and tuts. -
Download majid's poolwater, it works fine

Here a go at this scene with LightUp.
Added some light emitters in front of the windows. Changed the transparency of the roof because the scene was too bright. Changed several materials, added a watershader, turned some backfaces. Added a hdr as a background and as lighting source from http://www.hdrlabs.com
Calculation time: 6 minutes 15 seconds.
Edit:No post-processing.Greetings, Max
