@massimo thank you my friend
-
@Rich-O-Brien Interesting designs.
-
Excellent. How did you do the faceted one in second image?
I wold be curious to se a wireframe of it. -
@panixia Its a normal map I made in Substance Designer that I then played with the UV scaling to get the look needed.
-
-
@Rich-O-Brien you used spherical UVs?
-
@panixia the bump only needed to reside with this area so I did flat unwrap for this portion
So the object had 2 glass materials
-
@Rich-O-Brien Groovy, man. Nice. How did you make the tassels?
-
@Rich-O-Brien Pretty straight forward..
I'd expected a more noticeable distortion.. so I was fancying about about geospheres or some other funny way to over-complicate life -
Rich, I enjoy seeing your work, wish you would do it more

I had a starter asset from the client but it was unworkable. So I took a portion and made section I could array along a curve in Blender.
I made a couple if variants so the stringy bits didn't look repetitive. I also found a Geonodes setup online that helped add that randomness.
SketchUp wasn't up to the task unless you like lots of spinning wheel cursors. These are Cycles renders using the AGX View Transform.
