In the initial post by BTM he seems to give permission for alteration/fixes.

the specific tool i want is the smooth brush, which works very much like the 3ds max relax brush, essentially just averaging out the distance between vertices to variable strengths.

I looked at the code and it was a simple fix to make its loader >= v2014 compatible...
The updated version is in the PluginStore http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=btm_Sculpt_Tools_Files Although I suspect after six years there will be more up to date / better Plugins - like 'Artisan' ...

Please test and report back I have NOT tested it intensively 😮

Making it compatible with v2014's Ruby2 means that it also works with v2015 😛

I've used Sculpt Tools for a while now, because I'm too cheap and young to pay for Artisan.

I'd really love the lock feature to work by choosing lines and/or points and locking them in all axes, so they stay where they are, but any associated lines/faces move with the bulge tool.

I wish I had the skill to modify the code, if it's even possible.

Can someone please shed light on whether this is possible/feasible?

Is anyone anymore interested to develop this tool?

@BTM Hello, I have fixed the code of this extension to work on more recent Sketchup versions. If you approve, I can share them here.

Here is the updated Sculpt Tools.
Added two new tools. "Spread", which pushes vertices away from the cursor, and "Constrict", which attracts them.
I didn't fix the the original "Planar Lock" function. Only tested in Sketchup 2017 on a Mac! Works well though. Hope it works for others.

Is there some documentation or a tutorial for this plugin?

@ntxdave Not that I know of. But it's simple. Create or import a mesh with a high-ish polygon count.
Hover over an icon in the Sculpt Tools toolbar and the name of the tool will appear by the mouse cursor.
Click on "Bulge" and then click on the mesh with the left mouse button.
The mesh will deform, creating a bulge. Press and hold shift and the Bulge tool turns into the "Push" tool, which will
create the opposite effect of pushing into the mesh. The "Smooth" tool is useful for smoothing out the mesh, creating
a uniformity in the polygons. Adjust brush radius and strength in the settings, which is the top button in the toolbar.
