not to forget this "rounded seam" (is there any term for this?) on the edges of the upholstery makes such a furniture model so much better

Thanks HornOxx. I believe Your referring to the βweltsβ around the cushionsβ¦. Welt is the only term Iβve ever used for these. Iβm sure there may be other terms used in other parts of the world. What I found interesting in the reference picture I worked from there were no welts around the main body of the chair, just around the cushions.

Revisited my first sofa model from many years ago. Fixed a lot of my rookie SubD mistakes. Added a little more detail here and there. Didnβt want to do a total rebuild.

SUbD fun with furniture

A few models I made recently for a manufacturer that makes custom sofas to fit on yachts.

Those are great @panixia

Another bunch of screenshots from the same series..
All modeled using QFT, VT2, SUbD and a bit of Curviloft, JPP and Artisan mixed in the process.
The UV mapping was done in Wrapr.. -
Thank you a lot @Rich-O-Brien

I'm not as skilled as my master @panixia, but I can still create some items with SubD.

@alexpacio2013 what are those balck dummyes around the tires and helmet?
Maybe some Vray for Sketchup decals? -
@panixia yes, vray decals

Not very spectacular but SubD can make even everyday objects a lot easier to model. Organic shaped mid century modern drawer pull. Pretty common back in the day. Designed to be partially inset into the drawer front. Made attempts to model one years back. No luck. Knocked one out with SubD the other night. No problem.
