How to make this?

Hi to all,

I want to make door handle and bed cloth. I have TIG's Extrude Tools, but i don't know how to do this? Pictures/workflow would be great.

One more question: Is there any plugin that can add thickness to curved surface like bed cloth?

Fredo's Tools on Surface. But do you really need/want thickness to the cloth? It'll add a lot of geometry - will it actually be noticed in any view?

@thomthom: I think that is nice to have some thickness on the edges, but it's not must have .

Here's results. Texturing is done with projected material. Not bad I think? Base for sampling is rounded box (pic #4).
How to map shapes like this?

Hi cupko,

You can use Tgi3D SU Amorph's cross section tool to draw the handle quickly. The good news is cross section tool is available and unrestricted in the Free Training Edition of Tgi3D SU Amorph

Below is a quick video to show how. I drew the initial shape with Follow Me and then used Tgi3D SU AMorph's cross section tool to re-shape it to the desired form.

Excellent tool for objects like this. You'll see some geometry distortion because I rotated few cross-sections .
Sketchup is became very powerfull software .

Glad you liked it. Cross-section tool is one of the most favorite among the many features of Tgi3D SU Amorph.

Oops, I forgot to mention that the video was sped up. It was more like 4+ mins. I sped up the video so that people would not get bored. That is how slow I model

Ok, new challenge .

Is there any plugin which works like ChamferAlongPath, but to preserve original edges (I don't need bevel). I just want to add some geometry which will be parallel with original edges from both sides.

Try the native Offset tool - perhaps with some Move used on specific vertices/edges if required...

Native Offset requires selected face. I have something like in attach, but much more complex.

Perhaps my ExtendEdgesByOffset ?
Part of the Extrusion Tools zipped set - search for it...
Although it only works on any set of coplanar edges...

As you said, edges must be coplanar. One more thing, angles between faces aren't exactly 90°.

TIG, can we expect some plugin maybe?
