      hey fredo

i've come across an instance where v1.6 is freezing sketchup and 1.5 handles it just fine.. i'm not sure if the problem is in something i'm doing wrong, something mac specific, or what.

i'll attach the .skp (v8).. the two faces i'm having problems with are the ones painted orange.
      thanks

      [edit -- removed file]

[and maybe someone else can try this with jpp v1.6 on windows (or mac to see if it's repeatable for them as well)]

[IMPORTANT Version 1.6 has a big bug, causing a freeze of Sketchup in some situations. If you installed it, please move to JPP v1.7, which fixes the problem.]

Indeed, I have just had to update JPP as I had freezing with a model. Many-manythanks, Fredo, for this excellent tool and the constant upgrades!

            NEW RELEASE
version 1.8a - 01 May 11: Better respect the offset distance in case where the surface is composed of faces with sharp angles. In V1.8, this works also when there is an imposed plane set by Ctrl-Arrow.

            See main post for download.

                  The JPP_Dir_17 folder is required?

I think not - as it contains nothing that's not already in the new 18 version ??
V18 works OK for me without v17... πŸ˜•

                        Tom,

Are you sure? Which unzip program do you use?

It is true that I took a copy of the 1.7 zip file, emptied it, and then insert the 1.8 files. With Winzip, there is no problem. But it may not be true with other unzip utilities.

I use 7-zip and there is an empty JPP_Dir_17 folder once unzipped.

I just used Windows to open the file. I don't use third party applications for zip files. No need.

I see the same folder structure in WinZip v14.5...
The JPP_Dir_17 is empty, but it's there...
