Thanks, Cotty. The chair is pretty well grounded. Like you, JQL, I've always admired Thonet chairs. They're so simple and graceful.

Playing around a bit. [image: T8gC_ItalianTablesTurkishRug.png] I added a 19th Century Turkish rug. It needs a little help at the edges but TIG's Image Trimmer was very handy in making the rug.

Thanks, ntxdave. Let me see what I can do about a tutorial. Probably a piece of video. It'll take me a couple of weeks to get around to it, though. Best, dh

Thank you, gentlemen. The wood does look dark in the render, but the original is dark, too. Out west, the Greene brothers would probably have covered the screws with square ebony plugs as pbacot suggests. Rounded over all the edges while they were at it. I kind of like the exposed screws, though; I've seen that detail on other Mission pieces. Best, dh

Thank you, gentlemen. Dale, surely you can tell. It isn't a secret. Peter, the rendering was done in Kerkythea. The "set" is just a large rectangle. No walls or ceiling. Two lights inserted via SU2KT. I used a plastic material preset to get the glossiness of the wood and I used the texture for the slab as a bump map and set the strength to 0.25. It's probably wrong but whenever I want to add a little bump, I just use the texture image for the map. Seems to work fine. Rendered at preset 7 or 8. I forget which. Easy setup and quick render.

Thank you sancho, they'll come in very handy, I think the RAL's will be most useful.

thank you- I hear you about floating tenons, and in general, I agree. But trying to cut integral ones on curved pieces over five feet long, with angled shoulders- just a little too much for me. Perfect job for the router

I don't think Rietveld ever did a bar stool, so you're free to try your hand at one. Could be interesting.

And the real one probably weights 1000 pounds. Probably best to keep it on the ground floor.

You forgot to say that it's incredibly simple and good looking and I've made a hell of a job modeling and rendering it. Then all important info on the image was there, and we could move on with our lifes! Congratulations!
