@unknownuser said: Here in London we have a similar system in place now through a planning portal. We can get most forms by email and send documentation in either PDF or DXF to local councils who are participating. It has helped speed things up and streamlined the system a little bit. until you get a phone call a week down the line asking for paper copies becuase the Council plotter is broken!!! (i joke not) The only benefit to the architect is a saving in paper and ink. The Council prints off 6 copies when they receive them anyway. In the words of most planners "i can't work from PDFs, i like to see hard copies". I've found the whole process of the planning portal to be completely above and beyond the comprehension of most LAs

Hey guys, I am glad everyone likes it so far. As far as adding content I would have to get Ivica to chime in as he did this for me and now I am just maintaining it and adding new content. Scott

My wife complains about the noise, not the light coming from my little corner of the room. Funny, I don't hear anything...

For me, the "Log me in automatically" button does not seem to work-at least such as it did at the old @Last forums. Anssi

Whoa...I'm thinking gingerbread style house...you know...something to sit on the counter or centerpiece of the table...not actually BE the table. Christ...that's huge...but I bet at that scale, you can do some nice candy detail work. You know...I'm seeing it now...Christmas Vacation anyone???? Looks awfully similar to the Griswald's home. Now I know why you did it that size...so the little green army men you plan on placing around it and diving through the windows will be to scale. Either way...kick ass.

Thanks. I once saw a show called Celebrity Fit Club and they did just that, well sort of. At a point in the show they all had to strap on a backpack with the amount of weight they lost and run a mile (or 2 I cannot remember). Their reactions after the run were incredible. I can definately tell that my knees are much happier.

I also started SU about a year ago and first didn't think about earning/making money with it. Yet I got some jobs and did make some money and now I'm thinking of gradually becoming independent from my present (dull, boring and tiring) full time job at the municipality of my home town and working (among others) with SU to make a living. Funny at first... There is also this SketchUp viewer that also lacks a lot of functionalities therefore it cannot really be a good tool for now.
