Given that the sun has another 5 billion years to go yet....whatever beings witness its end won't be human, even if they are our descendants. They'll be further removed from us than we are from bacteria. Darwinism in action. As for the water; I could see that even a few hundred gallons could make quite a difference to a small colony. You don't need much...any more than you need much to keep your car engine cool...but it weighs a hell of a lot as payload, so any local water would be useful.

@unknownuser said: Hi, If the PC had two monitors that feed one projector would I be able to view both screens as one screen through projector? Is it possible to view PowerPoint in slideshow mode and su simultaneously? I think you still don't understanding my 1st response. Your computer needs a device to display the information. If you have a graphics card in your computer that has 2 VGA outputs you can display the following: a: 2 Monitors or b: 2 Projectors or 1 Monitor and 1 Projector note: the display resolution of the Projectors is not a great yet as it is for Monitors, however whatever combination you chose, a:, b: or above you will be able to view both Powerpoint and SU simultaneously! also check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-monitor

Here is another option: Most if not all Net books have a VGA plug in the side of the unit. Plug a spare VGA cable from the NET book directly into the back of the LDC TV's VGA port. Plug a male to male mini RCA cable from the speaker output on the Net book to the speaker input on the TV Adjust the video resolution on the Net book to maximize output to TV.

I'd imagine the running costs will be pretty expensive....it needs sixteen Japanese underneath just to move it around...like with the screen cursor. http://www.berro.com/joke/screen_cursor.htm

I could be wrong but I am under the impression that as long as your app. can be run from a networked hyper terminal (not sure of the name), that the virtual graphic adapter is not a problem. Currently, a memory stick containing a VPC compatible virtual drive loaded with its own OS and app, will run on any machine that has a VM that can access that virtual drive. Not bad for a first step. With multi core hardware, even overhead will be less of a problem with speed. In any case, running a Win98 app. on a new machine will be faster then then it originally ran.

The H1N1 flu is a descendant of the 1918-19 influenza, of which an estimated 500 million people worldwide suffered and 30-50 million died. H1N1 may appear bantam weight, but it's still nothing to take lightly.

We call it Armistice Day. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8353405.stm It was especially poignant this year because, although it's for the dead from all wars, the last survivors of the Great War all passed away since last year. The trenches are now officially history and no longer in living memory....at least in the UK.

@daniel s said: What is Go? Go is a new experimental systems programming language intended to make software development fast. Daniel, why is this on topic? Will Go become available to write Sketchup plugins? Why a new language from a company that employs GvR? I was sort of hoping for <script type='text/python'>. Will we get type='text/go'?

I do medium to large residential remodel projects, I use Cadsoft Envisioneer, have for quite a few years, since version 3, at the time I think it was $995.00 USD. Version 5 came out last year, it's now available in three different packages from $795-1795. It's has a pretty small learning curve, decent 2D drafting tools, comes with a basic builtin renderer, the biggest con is that it doesn't live update from model view to paperspace but this is suppose to be coming, the biggest learning curve and time spent was setting up the BIM catalogues for my use. I think its the perfect way for a one man show or small firm to get into BIM without breaking the bank. Here's a link, http://www.cadsoft.com/ . But I sure have been using SU alot more lately Mike

I'd like to see a good basic SU post prod. tut. How to take a simple rendering or SU native image and take care of common nuances. Peter I used to use PS for a lot of arch. projects but I'm out of practice. Here's an old effort using PS and a CAD image. [image: MCK.jpg]

They are surprisingly highly detailed. Even after you've deleted all the low poly versions, the higher poly still have a bewildering choice of guages and exhaust configurations superimposed. I guess it's a question of duplicating the model and deleting different configs on different versions. Some of the cars appear to have normal and smashed-up/burnt-out versions superimposed as well.
