@escapeartist said: I also like very much how he worked in what life was like then for different classes of people, how the church was built and designed and all that. People here would surely appreciate the latter! Indeed, my sentiments exactly. I recently had a tour around Fountains Abbey http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fountains_Abbey near to my home. It was incredible the amount of stuff regarding monastic architecture and the monastic way of life that i "knew" as the tour guide was telling us, all of it from POTE and a bit of light reading around the subject after reading Follet. Brilliant stuff!

I think couple of years ago I even did read about some trademark suit where judge did order the defendant to change its store layout and marketing... But back to the apple store... for me it really does not look unique. I have visited some cloth shops that have fairly similar atmosphere and layout.

The very reason we have two words - 'opinion' and 'belief' is that they do mean subtly different things - although there usage does overlap in daily speech... An 'opinion' is a subjective statement about an issue, that is either an emotional response or a personal interpretation of some information. An opinion may be supported by arguments or facts, although people might draw opposing opinions from the same facts. Opinions can change when new arguments are presented. It can be argued that one opinion is better supported by the facts than another, by analyzing the supporting facts. A 'belief', on the other hand, is a mental acceptance of a claim to truth regardless of the lack of supporting empirical evidence or facts. A belief will normally be kept despite facts being offered that counter it robustly. Either way, you do not need 'qualifications' to hold opinions or to have beliefs. You can shape people's opinions by rational argument [e.g. 'Synthetic life is good because...'], but you cannot readily change their beliefs [e.g. 'There is no God because...']. Ironically, 'to be opinionated' has negative connotations, but 'to believe' in something is often seen as positive [unless in 'blindly believe...']... Any opinion is an opinion, in my opinion.

you can save multiple images and use 'photomerge' in photoshop to stitch them together automatically. it may not solve your resolution problem but it works great for large sites. here is a video tutorial, quite a funny photoshop series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2u_yn-eYhg

does it mention the recent discovery of how they may have moved the blocks? in one of the tombs they found these strange half circle wooden blocks. they found you could strap them to a stone block...making it into a cylinder. forget dragging it.. roll it... wish I could find a link about it.. ah from Wiki "Dr R H G Parry[3] has suggested a method for rolling the stones, using a cradle-like machine that had been excavated in various new kingdom temples. Four of those objects could be fitted around a block so it could be rolled easily. Experiments done by the Obayashi Corporation, with concrete blocks 0.8 m square by 1.6 m long and weighing 2.5 tons, showed how 18 men could drag the block over a 1-in-4 incline ramp, at a rate of 18 meters per minute. Vitruvius in De architectura[4] described a similar method for moving irregular weights. It is still not known whether the Egyptians used this method but the experiments indicate it could have worked using stones of this size. Egyptologists generally accept this for the 2.5 ton blocks mostly used but do not agree over the methods used for the 15+ ton and several 70-ton blocks."

Wow, the gauge cluster is a very efficient design. For some reason it seems quite unique that the speedometer is on the right. Goldenfrog
