Why doesn't Man Flu get the same respect as Swine Flu?
-
I have Man Flu (worthy of bold text).
I've had it for well over a week but, putting on a brave face I've not taken a day off work. There has been no sympathy from my girlfriend or my work colleagues (all of whom are female). The pharmacy were no better (female shop assistant). So I googled "does man flu exist". After paying no attention to several sites and a wiki (probably all written by women) all saying that it doesn't, I found this article:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/5313882/Men-succumb-to-manflu-because-women-have-stronger-immune-systems-claim-scientists.htmlWhat I want to know is what does Man Flu have to do to get some respect?

You could just pop some estrogen pills...

You probably don't get the respect/recognition because men are notorious whiners. Being one myself you might think I agree, but I'm of the rare 'hardass' kind. I'm sure you are of the same breed, so let's agree the rest are screwing it up for me and you with their pittyful behaviour
To most other men, please carry your discomfort with dignity so as not to stigmatize an entire gender. Thank you.

Jon, your female co-workers probably didn't show any sympathy 'cause they were thinking "what the hell is he doing here at work when he's so ill; he could be infecting us!"
