I have to confess that I knew about this feature but only used once; when I tried it (as I have never needed it).

Yea, I had a nice little phew myself. All thought it took nearly the whole Saturday. I had been a good boy and backed up my data, but what did that help when the cursed thing wouldn't boot? At least it's up and running. But I'm still wondering what caused it. Was it that the ubuntu CD wouldn't eject when it shut down?

Dan Dennett: A secular, scientific rebuttal to Rick Warren http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/dan_dennett_s_response_to_rick_warren.html Sounds reasonable to me! Just one thought! We supposedly have been created in God's likeness according to the Bible! Would it not follow that we should actually THINK about matters rather than simply follows various writings regardless of their origin?

Speaking as a student, i am far more likely to try and learn a piece of software if their is a student version available. Leading on from this, im a lot more likely to buy a full version of the afore mentioned software when i start using it commercially, as it is what i know. I suppose the way i look at it is no sale at all Vs. initially reduced profit, but with an increased user base.

chango, FYI, I don't assume an avatar associates with the person making a post. So, I wasn't making any assumption on your ethnicity. Unfortunately, I did mistakenly connect something you had posted with another.

McCain selected Palin as Vice President already shows that he is not the best choice for President. Palin has no experience in diplomatic, and she only know nothing about economy. She do not have her plan, and she even don’t know what the Vice President should do. She cannot cooperate with the McCain complains. McCain also know a little about her. The only reason that McCain chose Palin is to make the people make the focus to him. He only want the “Wow” from the people. It is risky to choose him to be president. What people will he choose to form the government if he be the president? What is his standard for choosing people? If he be the president, will the policy also only for show off but without any useful value?

Mr S., what a great web site!! A word of advice to others, I think it's better to watch the split screen presentation, so click on the duelity button, not the creationism or evolution buttons. Pretty well sums up the whole discussion, IMO.

Misunderstandings of irony aside, I've got to say I don't find the content of this video all that objectionable and the implication that it could only happen in America (because of the title) is very unfair IMO. If you sat at your computer searching YouTube for a day you could probably find footage of "police being heavy handed" incidents from any country in the world. The only difference between the reaction of UK and US police would be that the chances that a drunk driver in the UK would be carrying a gun would be extremely slim, whereas in the US it would be much more likely. I've seen enough videos of US cops going about their duty, pulling over dangerous drivers and then being shot/murdered by the driver or his passengers to be surprised that they didn't taze this guy the second he put his hands in his pockets. I'm surprised traffic cops don't make dangerous drivers and their passengers get out of the car and lie face down before they even get out of the car and approach them; why risk being murdered just for doing your job?

Sorry, not funny... not one gosh-doggoned bit funny. from http://www.tnr.com/politics/story.html?id=8c130fe3-adab-4cb3-8443-c363f085cf13&p=1 At one point, the council asked him about the legality of banning group homes--such as shelters for runaways--a position Palin championed. Deuser had an academic manner and was fond of citing Supreme Court precedent. When he explained that a ban would be unconstitutional, Palin appeared impatient with such legal niceties. "I would describe it this way: Sarah was not an in-depth person. Never has, never will be," Deuser says. "Her instincts are political as opposed to evaluative." Though council members routinely bickered with one another, Palin became defensive when she was on the receiving end. "Sarah is intimidated, in my personal opinion, by people who are intelligent," Laura Chase says. by Noam Scheiber
