Started playing in my early 20's on acoustic. No formal training in rendering - the guys here on this (and the rendering engine) forums will do all they can to help you (if you want help). There is an answer to be found as everyone goes through the learning curves and they all know that they had to start somewhere and are brilliant at giving advice to anyone who asks. So my advice is - ASK PLENTY OF QUESTIONS!!

Here is Kapoor talking about his sculpture: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=An60H5a1OMs and some information on the selection process, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I12tm4JzUOg A few more images of the structure: http://www.dezeen.com/2010/03/31/arcelormittal-orbit-by-anish-kapoor/ and a nice commentary by Dan Fox, senior editor of Frieze Magazine, http://www.frieze.com/blog/entry/political_orbit/ Dan Fox finishes his article with: Kapoor can waffle all he likes about how the tower demonstrates his and Balmond’s interest in ‘the way that form and geometry give rise to structure’, but the bottom line is that the ArcelorMittal Orbit is a monument to politics and big business, and as critic Owen Hatherley observes, this kind of “‘aspirational’, ‘iconic’ but deliberately meaningless, non-figurative edifice” fits their purposes perfectly. File under ‘art and power’.

Father and Son watching Fr Ted one evening when the son asks his dad, "Dad is it true that Fr Ted is really dead?" His father replies, "It is son" "Is he in heaven daddy?" "Of course he is son, he wasn't a real priest"!!!!!!

Yes, you can. Download the sound editor, Audacity. Then just use the record button. there are several ways to record off your computer. The way I used to do it waas to plug one end of an audio cable into the the speaker output and one end into the mic. input. Another way is to set the recording settings to Line In. GF

That satisfies only half of the problem. The slope of e^x and the area under the curve of e^x are equal, but the arc length of e^x is different.

1'x1' means my camera has to be about 5' away from the code to be able to get it intot he frame to scan it. I think that is just fine. It should also be at about eye level if possible. My phone like to sacn things straight on, so if it up too high, it will be skewed in the image. If its down too low, the user might have to get down on the ground to scan it. Chris

Thanks for that. I could use that for setting a quick scene in a proposed interior design for my clients.

@idahoj said: With this kind of "robbery" how can anything be worse? This is why i have to agree and hope that this attempt will at the least get us started in the right direction. I don't necessarily believe in all that is included - but something has to change. I am a former republican that is so pissed off at the party for playing the kid on the block that is taking his ball and going home since he didn't get his own way. Just what I want my tax dollars to subsidize - countless politicians that aren't going to do any governig from now on, but rather focus on the next election - and then the next election. Makes me so mad I wanna ! As long as there is no serious debate about what is actually broken and how to fix it! Allow me a brief example.....My wife recently went for routine exams, including a mammogram. Pretty routine stuff and thankfully everything is fine, but for a while we were concerned. When she had the first exam - it was mis-read by a shall we say "less experienced" radiological staff reviewing the results. The images presented what was mistakenly identified as "spots" that required a second more thorough exam, and a sonogram as well. This had us on edge for the week till we got back in for the test. When she is there - a much more qualified doctor sees her to let her know everything is fine - they just had to do the additional test because of the flagging that the originally reported "spots" cause when the insurers, etc. see the report. He also explained that the first reading is a common mistake and that it could have been identified at the time for what it is - the result of the level of compression caused when larger breasted women get the exam. He might have recommended additional tests anyways - but he assured it was something that he has seen many times, and that the additional tests confirmed. So - no $11,000 bill, but what is coming through is (for the most part) of course not covered by insurance the second time around since she already had her "covered" exam for the year. That on top of being billed by 4 different entities now (hospital, radiology group, doctor-1, doctor-2) with none of the bills seeming to jive with the other billings.................. It is broken badly and needs to be fixed!!!!

Since I don't see any progress on the RSS front... I can gladly volunteer to help set this up. There are actually some mods that only require copying files and then publishing the link to a rss.php file. I have used one of those before on a forum and it works well. Here it a sample (haven't checked versions): http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=254606 Cheers, Alex

@apricoteds said: Hi Guys If this is not a preferred place to look for skilled sketchup guys for commercial purposes then no worries, sorry for the trouble I will delete post. If it is ok to post this here then I'm looking for one maybe two sketchup pros to help with intermittent architectural sales work. Work is 3D sketch sales graphics and occasional walk arounds. Payment would initially be paid on a fixed rate basis per job until a working relationship is established then you will be involved in pricing work yourself. Generally the work is produced from 2D cad so spatial awareness and understanding of 2D CAD is a bonus. Right now I have two jobs ready to go, small domestic 2/3 bedroom buildings worth $100-$200 for approx 10 sketchy/maybe rendered images and bonus cash for a walkaround. Like I mentioned, there is space to improve on money with time. I am UK based so will communicate in GMT hours. Message me your email and we can chat, I'd need to see some examples and would need your authority to provide your examples to my client as examples of work. I will sign confidentiality agreements and honour your rights of ownership to your original artwork that you send. Hope to hear soon! ApricotEDS hi mate i am a full time student who is quite sufficent with 2D cad and also have been recently using sketchup where upon we have had to design an extension in 2d cad and also a 3D design in google sketchup and i am currently looking for some design work this sounds like a brilliant oppertunity if you are still looking for someone and i am also in UK please get in touch at ooodysez(at)hotmail(dot)co(dot)uk

The lorry driver that chopped the front left quarter of my car off a couple of years ago(I escaped without a scratch) wouldn't have noticed it at all unless the other drivers hadn't started signalling him. Anssi
