Off topic? I thought I invented off topic. No worries, I enjoy the diversions. John in reply to: @unknownuser said: I think they may have had some ridiculous acceptance issues that have since been revised so the models would have be re-reviewed, but he's taken them down. There is actually 3 Hull area GE models. The KC, linea's model and a model of the Humber Bridge... John I think you are right on the acceptance issues, I will try reloading some from a couple of years ago, I'll mention it in this thread when I've done it and report back on how long, if at all, it takes. 2 years ago I rather naively launched into a big GE project, had to refund the client and that left me substantially out of pocket but that is a whole other story... Xrok, got to dash off to work now but will send you a pm with some info later.

Here are a couple of renders of a project im doing for design class. Im really more of an NPR kind of guy, and traditional style medias. But doing this stuff has been fun. Keep in mind that I only seriously dove into sketchup with this project, about 6 weeks ago, although I have had it on my comp for a year or more. And this is the first time I have done renderings...oh the precious lighting. Im still not completely satisfied, but all my instructors are in the stoneage and this stuff is beyond them, so I will likely get a B just because they dont know how to grade it (cause it wasnt done with markers and pencils) Oh well Any comments are welcomed. Not really - where I work they have it and I tried hard to get use to but no way! To slow and uncomfortable and has a lot of tools that I don't need. Rhino has much better tools for work with curves and huge import-export options!

tomot, Who are these people you quote? If you made money off GS, or had investment from them, you'd think GS served a purpose. Also somebody knowledgeable & in power thought GS served a purpose, and, moreover, was "too big to fail". Defining what that means and the solution (like the break-up of these too-big banks) seems to be the issue. Didn't they pay back the money taxpayers gave them? Just playing devil's advocate (but never GS advocate). We were just considering moving our accounts from Wells Fargo to a local bank as a gesture. Thinking about how we start with small banks then all our accounts, credit cards, and mortgages etc. get taken over eventually by a couple big banks (currently Chase & WFB). Then we'll break up these big banks . Eventually they'll buy each other out and consolidate again, just like when they broke up Standard Oil and AT&T. Is it just cyclical? Regards, Peter

@olishea said: @unknownuser said: just run alongside instead of ride haha my how times have changed. it seems, however, that congestion has always been a problem! in fact it looks worse back then. On the contrary, everyone seems to keep moving rather than "sitting in traffic", just like in some of the India traffic videos online. I thought the kids were hanging on the back of the car, fooling around.

Guys, Now that we have the SU to Piranesi Competition of the ground http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=179&t=27639 I will order 10 baseball caps from the company in the UK. It really would be far too much hassle setting up a shop to sell the polos and caps. As Csaba says, we would be better off just giving them away with events here. I think I will order some extra caps and have them as prizes for the Speed Modeling Challenge also. Talking about auctioning Shirts and Polos! Brad Schell sent me his collection of 'signed' @Last and Google SketchUp T-Shirts some time back. I sent one to Ross for his young lad's birthday as he is a SketchUp fan. When I say 'signed', Brad wrote his name on the neck label. Or maybe his Mom did so he would not loose them in the laundry Anyway, I have 4 left and will raffle a couple of them off as they must now be SketchUp Collector's items.
