Anyone here with a bit of a paunch belly?
-
Hi Guys,
Over the past couple of years I have been putting on a bit of weight around the mid region. When taking a walk I have found that in order to keep my trousers up I've had to tighten my belt a notch or two as its inclined to slip below my 'conditioning'. This in turn must have been putting pressure on some nerves I imagine as I was feeling painful hip joints! I came to the stage that I thought I might be heading to have hip replacements in time!
It then dawned on me that maybe the tight belt was causing this pain. Last week I bought a pair of braces and gave them a try out. They have done the trick perfectly! I can now leave my belt loose or not wear it at all, although I tend to leave it on. The braces have eliminated the need to tighten the belt and in turn the pressure that was causing pain and discomfort.
While in London last week I popped into Tie Rack and bought a couple of pairs of snazzy braces! When meeting some friends (all with fairly large guts) this morning they were laughing at my braces but I have a funny feeling they will be wearing them in due course.

Mike, I think I need to wear both.
-
Do you wear braces?
-
I haven't for a long time but I ought to. Or maybe I could use packaging tape.

Don't forget, Mike, Americans wear braces on their teeth. Those things they call suspenders. Now that really would be a sight...The Mayor in suzzies.
-
Lol.
I was hoping this wouldn't be a "render this" competition!

Oh! I forgot that but I suppose the attached pic will make it clear. I have converted my handyman, Noel the braces / suzzies today. He also has a bit of a paunch and now sees to logic. I'll supply a picture of me with my suzzies when I get a chance

My project of this spring and summer is to lose some weight so that wearing belts becomes unpractical and I can switch to my Wallace&Gromit braces again.

I see what you are saying, Mike. Since we last met at 3D BaseCamp (where was not too slim either) in 2008, I have put on some even nicer belly, too.

Now who said suzzies are cool!

I used to get bad indigestion problems from wearing a belt! but I don't have a paunch......yet!!
I thought I was really ill cos I kept getting acid reflux etc...every day. then I stopped wearing the belt at work (sustained periods of sitting down) and the probelm went away!!
but braces??? hell no! im just gonna call the fashion police........

Not as snug as Solo's link, let's hope Mike doesn't decide to model his braces in the same way!
Although he could use it for his Mugshot Gallery
