    Nice image, Mr. Pugz. The only crits I have to add is perhaps add some reflection to the floor, and give that rug some thickness.

    Thanks..glad you guys liked it..My boss did a lot of the work designing there. Was just the guy to render and cleanup the work. I Just want to produce cleaner results with regards to the shadow without so much render time. That took like 1 hour and 10 mins to render. I don't think we can afford that.

    and how'd you find out that there was light behind the camera?

    I can't figure out how to clean up the surfaces if you;ve noticed.

    Like mateo suggested I think the night shot is too dark, the interior could probably be brighter too.

    Although I get crit for not putting cars in scene, when they sit in the main focus of the image they really grab my attention. Maybe if the car colour was more inert it wouldn't be so distractive.

    I think the forground tree is a bit of a let down to your otherwise great image also. I would suggest trying one of the tree beibel created with my old "tree factory" file, and made them ready to use in podium. the leafs hang a little better!

    Look forward to see if you push these a little further!

    you should definitely have a look at indigo - its an unbiased renderer, which results in an easy workflow (not much to do to create beautyful images) and very long render times.

    great thing is, you texture your model within SketchUp (thanks to whaats SkIndigo plugin) and even assign attributes like roughness and reflectivity in SU...

    As Stinkie mentioned, there is indeed a slightly antialiasing issue.
    I think you either turned off AA or used a slightly too sharp Catmull Rom.
    (Catmull Rom is often a good choice when doing exteriors though).
    I think the steps could use a lower IOR and a little bump.

    Otherwise, wonderful output.

    As far as the process involved in creating a model from a flat drawing, it's fairly straightforward. The obvious one in this model is to create a flat outline on the 2D image of the Tylosaur, extrude it, sculpt the resulting blocky shape until it looks like the proxy shown, then run SubSmooth on it. SubSmooth is where the magic happens (thanks again, Whaat!).

    When the proxy has been smoothed, then I fuss with details until I come to a reasonable stopping point. Another view of the smoothed and detailed model:

    I believe this is simply some noise, that occurs, when the rendering time was not long enough. give it more time and these effects will vanish...
