Sorry, missed this response, stuff happening and loudly. I will not be sending any scene's for a while as onepillockdrive is taking me up the wall. On my tenth circuit of wall, ceiling, wall, floor....... microsnot wanting me to reinstall the pillock drive to "Experience the full benefit of a properly functioning pc experience, it is only between £20 and £50 per month to home all my files on their 'super safe' servers". Hmm, the problem you have circled is probably you just need to smooth the geometry. But I think you ought to start with the disco lights issue first. Are you using emmissive material for lighting? Try using a spotlight instead for your light sources and that may help.

@hellnbak said: That's a cool looking vehicle. So this was really manufactured? How about some normal SU shots of it, would love to explore it more. I don't think it was ever manufactured, it was a concept by the artist Roger Dean. If you'd like to take a look at my model, you can find it here in the 3D Warehouse: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=8ec11ae8cc51455e8d91c53b542309e7 There's probably one of them being driven around Second Life at this very moment

I grew up in Battersea (south London) in just such a house, loads of characters and a very friendly community. Nobody had a pot so there was no jealousy of who had what or not unlike now. In the 90's most of the terraces were torn down and replaced with multi storey housing which lost the gardens for slabs of concrete and potted trees which made the place feel very cold and soul less, losing its identity. I went back to the house I lived in then as a few at the end of the street were left ( I am informed the money ran out) and although they had put new tiles on the roof they left the original structure which meant the roof sagged at the back, it was a bit pathetic really. The original boundry between these back to back terraces was an open sewer and when I was a kid this evident by a dip in the ground level where the boundry wall/fence was, a link with the 17th and 18th century housing boundry location. The school at the top of our street was built over one of the rivers turned into a closed sewer during the big push to cleanse the city and was named after the river, Latchmere school. Yep, despite living over the road from school, I was sometimes late. John, I might have to emulate you as this series has givien me the urge to model these streets as I remember them. Thanks for that.

Toman, you didn't specify what the age group is for the youths. For children, I think it's a bit too sterile, and I wonder if the people silhouettes aren't too abstract for them. Every bookstore (or area) I've seen that caters to children is filled with colors and cartoon images. I think the concept might appeal to teenagers, however. I do think your falling into a trap, though, that a lot of designers do in that your ignoring point-of-sale - retailers are going to put up displays for sales, new merchandise, etc. If you ignore that during design, you might not be to pleased with the end result.

fabiorossi, If you have not looked into Autodesk Showcase I would give it a try. It is really pretty straight forward. It will import FBX and dwg as well as many other engineering based formats. I have attached some of my more recent work using showcase. The Ram interiors and SLS have no post work done. The SRT8 Jeep has very little. These were not modeled in Sketchup (used Modo for most of it) although I wanted to show the capabilities of Showcase. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?id=6848305&siteID=123112 Scott

I prefer 2 or 3, 2 looks especially more temporary to me and the cushion is easy to store compared to 4. Would love to see the finished product! Cheers!

Breath-taking! If I were actually on that distant planet, any photos I took would not look as good as these.

Roger, It certainly makes you appreciate these magnificent old buildings more! From first draft to the final stone, given what tools/instruments they had at the time. Imagine the maths; fractions using an abacus Peter, sounds like a local authority project! Imagine the stone masons crying with laughter Monday morning, oh well another seven years work lads. Bob, TomDC, I'ts great to see what others can achieve, John

if the aim of a render is to 'sell' a space then, when can I move in Real 'easey' feel obout it I think creating atmosphere is surley an art. Awsome!
