OK, still moving on with the build. Sketchup diffusion threw a few wobblies after an update went south. Rayscaper still on it. The colour is antique white from the skp standard collection, looking to see if I keep the pbr collection, not keen tbh. That Is a nicely well done first SU model. But be careful you might find SU addictive and before you know dinner is burnt and the sun is coming up. But the up side is one day you think it will take hours to get a part to look like you would like it to and “bam” dinner isn’t burnt and the sun is still up and you just set there looking at a completed item and think of what to work on next. poster-Director Bob

Thats a rather large project. That would look rather nice using some of Todd wood, ripple something. Alan

Thanks all for the nice words. CraigD, "Tropical Garden" by Stu Mayhew displayed in the KT site gallery is photorealistic even from 18" away!! Tom, at 974 x 623 pixels resolution and "PhotonMap+Caustics - High + AA 0.3" setting it took 33 minutes on a P4 3ghz 512mb RAM and 128mb VRAM. Fletch, Wow! a comment from a KT guru! I had also noticed those two light behaviour (KT Lights - Ceiling3) and tried changing to spotlights but didn't like it either. Thanks for the pointer on PS shadow/highlights. Guite

Modelhead, Thanks for the positive feedback. It always helps! There are a bunch of issues around selling images of SketchUp models. Some of these are technical, like finding a good way to print models, but most have to do with the nature of art itself and the market for art. At the inexpensive end of this practice of hanging images on walls, there is the poster market. People purchasing posters don't really care that a poster is mass produced. Low price is crucial. At the expensive end of the art market exclusivity is key and price doesn't seem to be much of a factor. In the middle -primarily lithographs and the like- scarcity is artificially created by the artist destroying the plates after a certain quantity of numbered prints are produced. I think something similar will be necessary for SketchUp art (digital art in general) if we want to sell our work outside the poster market. One interesting possibility is to sell a certain number of unique (numbered) views into a model and then destroy the model. The same practice could apply to walkthroughs of models. I'd love to hear what others have to think about this issue. Fred

Yea, good ole' Indiana. You can't buy a bottle of wine on Sunday, but you can get enough fireworks to level a city 24/7. I'm glad they were helpful.

I don't think so Kris, that one star seems pretty bright to me, scary bright as a matter of fact. Cool idea though, getting to grips with night time renderings showing starlight.

One of my newest components is an entire photo studio. Not needing light stands or power cords is a real luxury. I just pop the fixture silo into the photo studio, adjust a few lights and we have an image ready for the catalog. Client saw the final product and his first comment was, "this looks so real maybe we should go back and add the weld beads." [image: A69a_blu_orng_silo_4.jpg]
