Thank you very much for the warm welcome and positive feedback. Dylan, i agree the street lamp looks a bit small in scale, i did this one a while back so i don't remember well but i think i scaled the street lamp down to make space for the floating sign. Will be posting a few other designs soon. Take care all, Serrot

Point taken...and agreed to! too = too much! :`) The attached is a better rendering of a worse composition (and the SU only export, as promised elswhere). It is worse for two reasons: first...generally just is!, eye movement thru it is whack; second...because it fails my concept of focusing first on the feel of the "neighborhood", then on the building (the only "real" detail of "said-same" given, and since new to "it" gives the punch). But obviously, that feel here is coming all from my back-shadows, so I will think some more and try same on a more real project: but the concept is that the real use of a render is to express (and sell) the aura of a proposed project, and hopefully how that interacts with what's already there...? Solo, the file size is 74,7 MB. Render time for this one: 15 hrs and change. Modelhead, those floor hangers are merely there because I thought: hmm, I need something more. This model still needs quite some tweaking. I really should plan ahead more, instead of just jumping in.

Good to see. Were these done with latest beta nxt version, as you can now add bump and the new materials editor has been hooked up. You could already the use the basic presets for plastic glass, metal etc? Keep them coming.

True, only problem is that when i tidy, i tend to just put stuff in piles rather than actually removing it suppose i'll just have to look forward to that extra sense of achievement when i finally finish it (complete with desk clutter)

thanks fletch, i will certainly try that. fact is i worked for the greater part with kt 'from the box' so to speak - many of the terms are absolutely gibberish to me recently i uploaded the newest version of kt which looked graphically great but was (to me) so confusing that i put the old version back next to this one. now i look up what i did in the old version and try to find how to manage that in the new one (this way i found my way back to make something transparent )

yes, these models could come in handy one day... hope you will consider sharing in the components section ps... don't forget the thin glass shader in KT! and inserting the infinite plane model to get some shadows.

Thanks for your answer, Andre! SU is very poor when it comes to handle high poly models (like good 3D trees), so I assumed that it was instanced models/components...

I agree. I like the style concept you put to use here. It looks like you merged two styles in photoshop, focusing on the items of interest. I Like. Thanks for sharing.
