@arail1 said: Is the surface an actual material you're copying? It looks like galvanized metal panels with a print on it. Or is that just an effect created in the rendering? It's a pattern I drew in SU. I rendered it with Vray, and put SU linework on top of it PS. Then I started messing with filters and layers 'til I felt it looked OK. @kwistenbiebel said: Burlington socks

@olishea said: Weird, i didnt think SU sky would have that effect, nice! Maybe use smoove tool in sandbox tools to add some swells in the water, quick and easy. Smoove tool among other tools depended on VCB, don't seem to work in SU v7.1 BTW Update: It works but there's a bug after all. Re: Problem with specifying measurement when drawingby bjanzen on Thu Sep 24, 2009 5:00 pm Yea, on PC, the Measurements box never gets highlighted, and for some reason on Mac, it does and then doesn't accept input. You can make it go away by tabbing out of the Measurements box or making sure it isn't highlighted. We're looking at it. b (see, I can forget "VCB" if I want too)

@d12dozr said: @richard said: So what's this speed modelling technique, something I've missed or are you just on gun powder? See this post, : http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=20275 Thanks mate! Yeah now I understand - I do the same with my own render scenes, probably even a little more abusive as I tend to only model the very front face and even on the roof the front facing panels. I don't even use hole cutting components, instead just place windows then blocks of textured brickwork around them. I just wish I could get the Googies to introduce non-scaling textures! In every beta test I bring this up, asking for an optional check box in the material editor. Non-scaleable textures would mean such form could really quickly be complied with primaries just scaled into place. Modelling speed for rendering would rocket! Though weird everytime I ask for it others jump on my back to suggest they don't want it, they want to be able to scale things up and the texture scale with it! I can agree with them for about 10% of modelling - but for panels like brick, the material is a standard size repeat. All I've been asking for is an option!

@davidh said: hi oli i found a tutorial for creating rain at http://www.photoshoplab.com/rainy-day-rain-effect.html. the first half tutorial basically creates a rainy overlay mask. I grabbed a rainy overlay from the web and applied it to a rendering as a watermark. [image: 1lNg_rainy-day.jpg]
