Hi Lea, hi folks. If you search the 3D Warehouse (3DWH) with the words art gallery, you will find a lot of results. The vast majority of them are buildings seen from the outside. However, I found one by Tan-Jeong here: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=d60467b3084eef4fe77aafc342bcd367 It shows the inside floor and walls as if the ceiling has been removed. This can act as a start for you. Of course, you can draw your own one from scratch. Then, you can search the 3DWH with words such as 3D people, for example. You will find a lot. Incorporate these in the galerie. Finally, you can import jpgfiles of you pictures and use them as textures to paint rectangles. These will become the paintings for the galerie. Observe the above mentionned model to see how its author added frames and ligthing fixtures and a few other details. You can even search for sculpturesand after scaling them, if needed, add them inside your gallery. Just ideas.

In any case what you are doing is moving the geometry, edges, and vertices and how you do it depends on the nature of the geometry you have. For general terrain Artisan sculpt tool is good. TT's Vertex Tools are good for shaping many types of connected geometry and that might be better for roads and other hardscape.

Thats weird... I'm assuming you use SU 8? I had something similar to this happen with LibFredo once, I had upgraded from 4.6 to 4.7, deleted the 4.6 files in the plugins directory, but SU told me I still was using 4.6. I fixed it by simply deleting ALL Fredo6 .rb's and folders from my plugins directory and reinstalling them. You might want to try that, its all I can think of.

@unknownuser said: First line : @unknownuser said: SketchUp Pro is 3D modeling software for professionals. Price is so low that for a professional it will be pay off as soon as the first project! And you can sleep as a baby without any problem of legality! That doesn't say that professionals can't use the free version, though. The price is low and will easily be recovered by anyone who is using SketchUp professionally.

It also says that the file I'm working is locked by another user, and won't let me save changes to the model. Can anyone tell me why these things might be happening? Thanks, AZ770 Oh god, don't remind me... I once had a 130 MB model, imagine how that was... What Sketchup version do you use?

@pbacot said: I found with curvizard, Cleanup contours for all curves, then simplify contours for some of the curves with larger segment count leaves you with only a couple places to fix by hand. But I think the contours show too much concentration of edges in some places and overall I would think you'll get better results with fewer and more evenly spaced segments. Rich is right and knows best how to do this sort of thing. You could also work on this with half the canopy. I also worked at 10 time the size for good measure. How do you arrive at the correct section and draw those curves? Thank you so much pal, I finally solved the problem, thanks to curvizard, which I had never heard of before you told me. All I did was simplify all the cuves, it helped a ton: there is not a single imperfection to be found in the resulting model. The model on the right is the new one. [image: S3Yc_canopy.PNG] Thank you, pbacot!

Thanks for this info I did this and it works well, but with a lot to select it takes a long time I'm still looking into the QuadTools option and if I can't get them to work then I now have other ways to solve the problem. Thanks to everyone for your help.

There is no need to make changes to files if it just "works" (ie. SketchUp opens them). I just keep old files untouched so they can still be opened in older versions.
