re: shadow bug. Why don't Google just buy / licence the fix from this company then? As previously stated, this is huge problem, def not becoming from a pro app (seeing the pro version also has the problem).
I too can see merit in this idea.
I was about to post something similiar about SU flagging you when you are in tight areas working and inadvertantly select and delete some common entity to a major component elsewhere in the model, that when selected you have no idea the major was affected until you zoom extents again and a major partof your model is missing and 100 undos wont bring it back.
I think various colored bounding boxes might help the situation.
GREAT idea Coen!
I thin we would all like to know sometimes how long we have spent on a model. I bet the reality is quite different to your perception!
I shall buy this script.
besides that, the move tool would still be important for moves to where there is no reference (then you would enter a distance in the VCB) and for copying, of course.
Edson, are all your lines changing color when you select By Material?
If so then all your lines were already painted somehow.
The only way to change this is to paint all your lines back to default and then paint only the lines you need. The best way to do that is to go to wireframe, select the lines and change their color via the Entity Info panel.
Thx solo, that is good to know! I'm toying with CrazyBump at the moment, I was hoping one could assign these maps, created by some or other program, within SU (Pro) and thus have it be of more value to the professional licence owner.
Yeah, I know the 3ds pains (have been experimenting with them). UV maps are just exploded and texturing is almost impossible (OR you keep the UV maps but lose softened edges and then the soften command don't work from Kerky).
Well, I hope Tomasz will find out ways - as well as for section cuts.
NotDoneYet,
Note that you can force the axis rotation easily by
first placing your moue somewhere on the particular line (axis) you want to rotate your model around
click one and still pressing the mouse button, drag your cursor along the desired axis
when you see the colour of that desired axis (or it say "On line" for any other, custom line) you can release the mouse button; it is locked that way
now you can pick your point to rotate and do the rest as usually.
While we could use both versions simultaneously with v.5 this is not possible with v.6.
If you have enough machines though, you can install the free version on one/some of them and work there when you need multiple instances of SU running on the same computer.
