😲 <----me after seeing this. amazing work! With this plugin it would seem that I can quickly work in low poly modeling, then when ready to render, high poly the model πŸ˜„ . Me and my laptop will be greatful. 😍

    • RE: Holes in faces

thanks Anssi, unfortunately it's not large or far from origin. I've experienced this on small models and large ones. It's weird, I removed and reinstalled sketchup but it still happens. 😒

It only happens occasionaly, and when it happens on a "face" I can sometimes eliminate it by drawing a line accross the face, and then soften it. it's as if the flat plane becomes non-planer and planer (I think thats the term) at the same time somehow. entering the fourth dimension, or twilight zone. 😲 arrrgggg

    • Holes in faces

      This has been happening lately.

      http://picasaweb.google.com/Cartographer.Tom/3DSTUFF02/photo#5136011902179435778

the faces seem to have areas that you can see through. It seems to happen when cutting out shapes from a flat plane. It creates cut out parts that you can see through, but it's still a solid face. (in other words: if I click on a "clear" area it selects the whole face, and not the object behind it) these odd cutouts will also change shape when I draw on the face again. It's freaking me out man!

If I upload it to warehouse, or 2d export it, it's looks fine, so I had to screen print this image.

I think they are sort of expensive, Tom. πŸ˜›

Ha, I bet your right. How can I justify such a toy. If it can print out a pair of diamond earings, maybe the wife will say ok.

And Marne, there's no "sheet" just a tray full of liquid poly-something, but judging by the cost of inkjet refills, it'll prolly run about $50.00 to "print" out a plastic paper clip.

    • Bevel edges

If I post the first "wish" here, will it come true?

Iwould like to have a "bevel edge" feature.

Since almost everything in the world has a beveled edge to some degree, it would be nice if Sketchup could create them for us.

I have a ruby that chamfers edges, it works correctly about 50% of the time. but it's only chamfer, and not curved.
and "follow me" can sometimes work if not to complex, but it's not very accurate when it changes directions. and it's a pain to set up the face of the bevel

I would like to "highlight" all the edges I want beveled.
      click a "bevel tool"
input the "depth" [like 1/4 inch]
input the "number of edges" [like in arc tool]
      and viola! beveled edges!!

please grant thy wish oh google master.

yes, that's what it's doing. didn't know if there is a setting for that. if I pull it it does "right" itself, but if I enter a push/pull dimension I have to remember to make it a negative number. just one of those pain things
