Well I think I added all the important links under the Tutorial section on the wiki, but surely there are some remaining uncovered areas. So don't be shy just post what you need to know, if nothing else we then know where to direct you.

SP animations cannot be exported simply with the native SU (scene) animation tools. You can export it with Twiligh Render for instance (get someone to export it for you that way). It will even be much "nicer"

Complex shapes need to be built with basic ones or use staticmesh, but that as the name reveals always stays static. When you get stuck on something it's best to upload the model so we can see how things are put together. machine.skp

http://sites.google.com/site/sketchyphysicstutorial/ - would be the most obvious. Anyway a quick tutorial: draw an object make it a group (theose work best with SP) make a joint next to it select the Joint Connection Tool click on the joint then press and hold Ctrl and click on the group run the simulation and be amazed

Thanks Mr K, much appreciated. Is there a way to make objects more solid? Ie I notice if i increase the rotation of the servo I can pull the pin through the sides of th slot. Is there a wsy to change this, so that one object can not pass through another? (without creating a "frozen" object?

Nothing makes me smile as much as seeing a post from Chris Phillips (though of course I always wonder how much of what I have learned over the last year is now superfluous). I will love to see how all this relates to that crazy piano and drum kit posted and shared in the past. Good luck with the remodel...can't you just do it in sketchy physics, give everyone a VR hood and call it good?

Ya I do most my models in SU7 because it tends to crash alot less combined with SketchyPhysics. I'm not sure what exactly happens in the transformation to SU8, but atleast fixing it is quick.

jgb, It sounds like you are describing either the proper animation or Keyframe animation plugins.

Tim, without your script I couldn't have brought my vision into focus. I remember QuickBasic and Pascal from highschool and have a decent undertanding of arrays and variables so it wasn't much of an effort to edit your script to fit my model... Thanks again and I may take you up on your offer for future help. I am creating a virutal prototype for a toy. PS I'm an old school DOS user so I am in the habit of saving my work with almost every major change. Most of the time I save things under two names while doing a lot of editing or experimenting so I always have a "restore" point of sorts. -Joe San Antonio, Texas USA

Thank you very much for your help. I wonder if having two different angles are not going to have a conséquance the control. I'll test it. Thank you very much for your quick help.

Here is a simple SP model, you can then add the visual parts and arenas to it. battle.skp

Hi Mr K., I took your advice (I think) and rebuilt the screw. The casing and thread are now both made out of the solid floor feature, and all of the animation settings are the same as in the example model you suggested to look at. I still have the problem that the ball passes through either the casing or the thread depending on how i play with the animation settings. Any further advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Pete Screw.skp

I knew it would be something that simple, just losing my mind today apparently. Thanks so much
