Just bought it; wow, wow, wow!!!!
Good on you TT, you deserve every success with this plugin after all you've done here over the years.
And thank to SCF for being, well the SCF. I thin I'd give up coffee if I didn't have a hangout to go to.....

Hi Dale, Happy New Year!
A few queries re: building assemblies and where to use components or not.
See attached images which I've added questions to each. Cheers, look forward to hearing back ASAP.

Its called "Z fighting". Where two planes are co-planer....
A simple google search of Z fighting will explain for you.
Invaluable even for this old timer....
Even more impressive then!
Lookin good mate, you have a knack with being able to tell a story with images....
Question though. 'Affordable Housing'? It is the buzz phase and has been for some time now. Pollies love it!

But it always prompts me to ask the question, 'what is an affordable range?'
Is this a strata project for public sale? If so where do they sit in the market?
Nice work, Guy and to all your team! You guys are really changing the way we can present documentation with some exciting things to come.
Merry Christmas to you all!!

Obviously the people developing Sketchup doesn't use it at all, the same annoying bugs are still here, and the new features are just inexistent.
This is so frustrating, puzzle games on iPhone have more improvements on each updates than Sketchup releases.
SKP 2015 (14.1 really) was already poor in innovation but 2016 (14.2) just got a +1 to its current name.
What have they been doing for 1 years, gathering crappy jpgs for the "new" textures ?
I could post a full list of bugs and needed features, but they obviously do not care as many people already done that with no results.
Rather than just be frustrated Nicholas, you should post your list of bugs / features over at the 2017 wishlist.

Otherwise no one will know what your issues are.
George it's called SubD, by Thomthom. Not out yet apparently but will be a real winner by the looks of it!!
Thanks mate, understand now!!
Thanks guys, think I've got the knack of it now. Here's the end result.
Really needed to model it accurately [overalls at least] for dimensioning later.
Looking forward to SubD comes out though; looks really neat!

@Rich, where do I find SubD??

- create a (quad) shape from the contours by picking them in the right order.
kaas, Not sure what you mean by this? Can you explain?
Thanks by the way for your in depth explaination....

Is this something more like the shape you were after (I used simple curves, not quite like yours)? Note the setup.[attachment=0:16bzgi9l]<!-- ia0 -->Screen Shot 2015-12-12 at 10.04.44 PM.png<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:16bzgi9l] You can do this with "skinning of shapes". You can also use "extrude edges by rails"
That makes sense, Peter, cheers will try it!

WHAT THE ?????????
Just when you think you're across this program.... Nice 'dirty job', mate!
Hey guys, I've started a basin I need for a 3D scene and for the life of me I can't get the inner shape of the basin to work for me. I've attached a few screenshots as well as the skp file to show whats doing...
I'm sure there's a simple was to make this work!!

IdealStandard-ActiveVessel.skp

Hi guys, I've always like the idea of presenting schematic work to clients with the simplest entourage and noise; just enough to get the idea across clearly.
I'm going to spend some time over the Christmas break putting together a few concept 2D/3D plants and see what you guys think. Here's a start. A simple deciduous tree that can be viewed in 3D colour as well as 2D conceptual.
What I've done is deformed a sphere in certain places to achieve this shape so I get this profile in but plan and elevation... then used Chris Fullmer's ColorByZ to gradiate colour through the canopy.
Anyway, if its useful, I'll do some more and post them here.

Either working fro home or the office [which I know is not good] and also having two different dual screens adds to the problem.
