For some reason this plugin is not working with my SU v8. I've installed latest version of bst and hos 1.6.1. Even so, when I activate the plugin, then the tool and then I go for the wall, this is simple selected in blue color (not orange as I've seen on tutorial) and doesn't let me to select the circle, that would make the hole.
      Any suggestion?
      Thank you.

      Hi,enachi.
The face and solid must be in same Group or Component or Model.
It is rule of this plugin.

If this is not solution for your trouble,Please show ruby console from 'menu' -> 'Window' -> 'Ruby console'
And work some with this plugin, the error message will show when error is happened.

or Download the example.skp that Dave R uploaded in this topics.and test it.

      Please reply the result.

      Thanks.

      Hi Tak,

I am excited to see that I am not alone in developing a BIM plugin πŸ˜„ Great work!

My plugin (SketchUpBIM) is focused on Building Modeling, and follows a similar methodology as the commercial BIM softwares. I would be very happy if you check it out and provide your feedback and comments: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=41840

other BIM gurus on this forum, please feel free to provide feedback as well!

      Hi, tak2hata:
Thank you very much for this wonderful plugins.
I send a file to test the plugin. I think the plugin does not work well with these geometries.

      thank you very much

      Hi,jorge2011.
      I saw your model.
It does not be occluded with very small faces being disconnected.
It must correct to be judged as solid in sketchup v8.
solid model I want is all each edges has connecntion to 2 faces or 4 faces. In this case, the faces are occluded.

      Thanks.

      One other thing:
Is there any way to get the Toolbar back, WITHOUT using the Web Dialogue? I'd much rather have the toolbar up in my set of toolbars, than having to click to call up the web dialogue every time I want to use it. Just seems more cumbersome.

      Just a thought.

      Hi,davecoopstl.
I correct the toolbar as before.
      Thanks.

Yes, I realize that, now. The confusion came from noting the author's profile and subsequent responders profiles have not been updated, so I assumed that this plugin was available for SU v7 also.
I do have Sketchup V8 but I have not yet installed it there.

      Hi, Mitcorb and ThomThom.
      I improve this plugin.
This will work on Sketchup v7(perhaps v6).
      I abort using "volume" property.
      Thanks.

As a followup on my previous comment, I did manage to extract and copy drag from the Winzip UI into the plugins folder the two files .rb and icon. When I tested in Sketchup 7, selection would not progress beyond the prompt for the first object/ group which was simply a cubic form made into a group and a circle oriented appropriately. Previously, in XP, I could right click on the zip file already in place in the plugins folder, "extract to here" and see the files deployed appropriately. Any thoughts on what I have managed to miss in the provided info?

      Hi mitcorb.
This plugin use property of volume.
Sketchup supports solid in later version of 8.
As matter of fact,I think this script may work ,when it judges the Group(Component) is solid.
I must create the method of that judgment for that purpose.
      I inquire later.

      Thanks.

      Hi,Ken.
      I think so ,too. πŸ˜‰
by the way,if you have intalled excel, perhaps the Table in the browser can be exported with pulldown menu.

In future I will change script to export CSV.
But exporting schema is not enough consideration.

      Thanks.

Ok so after further digging I see what you were trying to accomplish with grouping by materials. Unfortunately you chose to use your own custom attributes which will make this grouping meaningless to most people. I am currently rewriting some of this to suit my own needs - I will post here when complete but its definitely not a one-size-fits-all solution since I dont have the time to customize it for every use case.

      Hi stevendaniels.
I update this with your proposal.

Hi tak2hata, well done!!!! A good solution to an age old issue among SU'ers...

      A few questions:

      1. Does the 'profile' need to be a group?
      2. Does the tool require a face or edges to create the hole in the resulting group? The reason why I ask is it would be good to extend this tool for edges to cut holes in groups [walls]. Say a window component is inserted; a nested group of edges could create the void in the wall and leave the window geometry.... not sure if this is possible.

      πŸ‘

      Hi utiler.
Your second question is the direction of the this plugin's future.
      1st question is No.
It need only face for hole.

      Thanks
