Well done, Nomer! But why not IES lights?
Yeah, great start. The floor looks great, the amount of reflection is spot on! For soft shadows, make the sun size bigger (by default is 1, so make it @ 4 or so). In my opinion, the lighting is just a bit low, and I think it will be darker after applying all the textures. You could use some rect. lights in windows as sky portals, if necessary.
Cheers!
How to Set the White Point in Photoshop:

The last one is 2.62. There is a tutorial actually about how to update your blender, without uninstalling. I'm digging right now and I'll post the link . Anyway, blender .org is the place to go when you need something related to blender. This guys are moving quite fast.
When you start blender, a box is already created

The last one have advanced tutorials, but I had great time watching some of them, blender is awesome, when you are Andrew Price.
Some of the members here were talking about V-ray for blender, as an alternative to V-ray for 3ds max and 3ds max. You'll need a V-ray standalone license, so no need for spending more money for max. Blender interface became more user friendly these days, so learning some basic stuff like manipulating geometry and such will take you probably...days. Andy is going in this direction, so check his topic here and ask him about it. Here is the threat : http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=322&t=43681

Andy, I'm having baby steps with blender. I've printed the keyboard shortcuts on A4 sheets of paper, and I have watched some basic tutorials. I'm having a "steam-punk" feeling about blender, and I'm loving it.
I will not use v-ray, since I'm short with money, but it's nice to have a powerful sub-d modeler and more for FREE. Thanks so much for the push.
Regards,
Stefan
Hello Andy. Can you please describe blender for me, I mean how does it feel like. I felt comfortable when modeling in modo for example, and I loved so much the "CAD" feel of rhino interface. I've opened blender a couple of years ago, but I couldn't wrap my head around it.
Of course I can try it again, but I'd love to know how does it feel for you.
Cheers!
Gentlemen, thank you for your comment. The modular wall is designed by MisuraEmme, a big italian furniture company, I've only tried to
get it right as in reference images as a client wish. Unfortunately, due to the very expensive materials required, this one didn't pass.
The kitchen is just a first proposal, not to much to say about it, I'm still waiting the client to decide if this is the right look (color and the model of the fronts)and maybe I'll make another version with the oven much higher, in a tall cabinet at the right end of the kitchen. The bed it's 99% final, as the client is someone who we worked with in the past, and we communicate very well.
As a conclusion about what Mr. Dale said, I think I'll try to get more images about the work we do in our shop, because it's always nice to see things coming to life, after some sketches or 3d models.
Regards,
Stefan
WOW...now that's long time without posting. Small work, some cabinets arrangement. Waiting for client opinion.

Stefan

I've tried 401, and it was great. I almost modeled a car. If I have to choose a tool for modeling, this is it. I didn't understand shader tree, but it wasn't enough time. The render output looks amazing. Minus interior shots. Actually, I write this down, and I didn't followed you link. Well, what can I say, I liked modo, and I get a little excited right now, so my comment looks.....odd.
Drilling a hole is the best bet. Being a circle, the hole won't have any weak spot , like corners, if you choose a rectangular shape.
Also, you'll need a special drilling bit, like in this image:
But I don't think you have to worry, the manufacturer will do that for sure.
Back lighting can be done, but not with this opaque version. There is another version of glass( actually two sheets of thin glass, with a laminated colored film between) with different colors and transparency grade/ opacity.
Here is another example with back lighting, just to have an idea.
EDIT:
Methods of Installation:http://www.colourglasses.co.uk/other/installation.html

Didn't find technical informations about how to install it, but it's basically painted glass and the correct name is "Lacobel"
I found some info here: http://pdf.archiexpo.com/pdf/glaverbel/2007-lacobel-range-2007/49576-1569.html
